37+3 and something weird has happened....

Woke up about 5am with terrible stomach cramps, but not period type ones, more tummy achey than that, lots of gurgling etc. Went to the loo, (sorry if TMI) with a bout of diarrhoea. Tummy still very tender.

When I woke about 7am I felt the need to go to the loo again but nothing happened. Then I realised the baby has moved into the weirdest position. I don't know which part is the baby but I now have a strange lump protruding out from just above my belly button.

Anyone know what this all means? I guess the baby's moving down and that could be his bottom, perhaps? Feeling a bit wobbly on my feet and stomach still tender. I'm about to have a bath to settle me down, but sort of toying with the idea of calling the midwife. WWYD?

you could be going into early labour (which could last for days so don't panic!

diarrhoea is sometimes a sign that things are getting ready to happen.

call your midwife if you are worried, it's what she is there for!

Thank you, I called my midwife who said the same - baby descending, labour could be imminent but not necessarily. Basically advice is to take it easy, rest, take paracetamol if the pain is bad.

Sounds like the hard lump is baby's bottom. Very weird!

This is DC2 so you'd think I wouldn't be panicking so much - feels like I have more anxiety this time round, which is odd.
