I am 11 weeks pregnant with my fourth dc. And for some reason I appear to be turning into a hobbit...I have hairs on the tops of my feet, where I've never had them before! What on earth is going on?

I've noticed that all the hairs on my body are getting longer and thicker.

I have acoupke there too. Dc3 for me

Would it be connected to the fact that I have hyperemesis and have lost 10lbs in the last 6 weeks?

I get hair where I previously had none when I am pregnant. I am not sure why but I get a very hairy belly but the hair on my legs hardly grows at all.

Anorexics grow downy hair when they become very thin but I think that is due to very extreme weight loss.

Hoorah!!

You're ok!

Congrats on 11 weeks. I take it your scan went ok then?

CardyMow · 28/06/2010 23:29

Yup. Well, sort of...it turned out that I'd had an MMC in march, hadn't bled, ovulated and fell pregnant again before the MMC was discovered. I was put on preventative antibiotics for 2 weeks, and scanned again to make sure that I had 're-absorbed' everything from the MMC and that this baby still had a heartbeat. Which it did. So yes, all fine and dandy apart from the hyperemesis. I have another scan on 5th July, when I should be 12+1.

Chegirl...would you not call 10lbs in 6 weeks a severe weight loss??!! I do tend to get a hairy belly when I'm pregnant, but in all my pregnancies, I've never got hairy feet before!

Loudlass - thank you for updating, I was really worried.

So sorry about the MMC.

How are the chealsea bun cravings coming along!!

Keep this thread updated after your scan on Monday. Fingers crossed all is well. xx

to chelsea buns or anything swet atm tbh. Unless it's fruit! I think that this baby is going to be healthier than any of my others, as all I seem to be able to keep down are plums and bananas!

How was the scan yesterday?

CardyMow · 06/07/2010 17:56

Ta for remembering! It went really well apart from bubs is (very) lazy, and it took 40 mins of the sonographer jiggling my belly to wake it up and make it stretch out so that she could measure it! Bubs measured 55.3mm, which puts me spot on for 12+1, saw hb. I need to have a specialist 20wk scan to check the heart because of DD's heart probs, and I'm seeing a consultant obstetrician in 4 weeks about pain relief in labour, as I'm not allowed an epidural in my PCT because of my epilepsy, and I'm not allowed pethidine either because it is metabolised into something that causes seizures. I'm allowed diamorphine because it doesn't metabolise in the same way, but my PCT doesn't DO diamorphine. The only hospital that does diamorphine is MILES away from me, out of my PCT area, and my PCT won't pay for an ambulance to get me there as I live literally 5 mins away from my local hospital. I don't drive because of my epilepsy, and DP doesn't drive because he's a scaredycat he had an incident 14 years ago while trying to learn that put him off for life...

Babes - you'll be grand. If the feckers can't sort something out re the Diamorphine then make some noise. Tis shocking in this day and age that 'your choice' is rarly that!!

DS was like a smash n grab he came out so fast! MW said I was talking rubbish when after 20 mins of inducing drip put up I said I needed to push - out pops DS, queue me going into shock!!

And then they told me he had SN...... it was a blur for hours after that!

Get your GP, MW, HV everyone on board. There is NO excuse for you not to have decent pain relief!!

Glad bubs has a heartbeat. That's always a huge worry at early scans. Especially after what you've been through of late.

Keep fighting and keep me posted!

Here, have an unMN hug (( ))
