I'm a new nervous mum-to-be! I had my first scan on Thursday and we were thrilled to see the little one for the first time. It's our first baby so all very new and exciting. I'm having a bit of a hard time with morning sickness which lasts all day and I'm so tired I even nodded off at my desk yesterday!

It would be nice to hear from other first-timers who are due around the same time and anyone with good advice controlling sickness and energy levels!

Congratulations! It's truly wonderful isn't it? Have a look at the ante-natal group section of MN and you should be able to find a group of mums due the same time as you. Enjoy!

Aww, congratulations! I had my scan on Wednesday, was originally told I was 11 weeks but the sonographer said we're more like nine. It was great seeing the screen and being given the photo though.

I've also been getting very tired and ill, have you also found that things smell funny a lot of the time? For the tiredness I've found that eating small amounts regularly help, so have been keeping biscuits and dried fruit to hand when I go anywhere. Can't keep down much food on some days although cereal and milkshakes are usually ok. Also stay hydrated and try to get as much sleep as you can - even if it means spending a lot of free time napping, it's not ideal socially but I've found it does mean that for the periods of time I am awake, I'm better able to concentrate.
