Pip, could they be boils?
I have had boils in my armpit region a few times, both when I was pg and not pg. They can be v tender.

My mother used to suffer them also when she was younger. She says the GP used to lance them with a sterilised razor blade . She's 82 though, and I'm sure GPs don't do that anymore!

I had one on my fanjo when I was pg too. Not nice.

Is there a walk-in centre nearby you could go to tomorrow?

um i dont know eagle they might be...would they look more obvious or stay under the skin for a bit?no walk in centre no... i have been very sweaty past few days could that have made any contribution??

just spoke to midwife over the phone she said it sounds like blocked milk ducts...

Yes, sounds like blocked ducts - I had a couple after dd was born. Massage and hot compresses seemed to sort it out, also, make sure your bra isn't too tight.

pipinmybelly, I had exceptionally painfully lumps in my armpit when I was pregnant with my first child 2005, I had them under both arms from about 20 weeks, so painful, they grew and grew, and burst, very unpleasant and seriously sore, go to your GP as soon as, ask for a cream, I got bactroban. They reoccurred a few times after birth but never to the same extent and never in future pregancies!! I went for tests etc to try and get to the bottom of it but no real explanation. It was not blocked ducts and not really boils!!! Good luck
