Mia's spell for protection - ????

Ok I am officially mad . I can't believe I'm asking this... Has anyone had more than one MC and then gone for the Mia's spell thing and had a healthy baby as a result?

Me = 2 pregnancies and 2 healthy babies (now aged 10 & 7). Then this year an MMC followed by an early MC four months later.

I'm torn between thinking that it would be a nice idea to have someone giving me positive affirmations, and thinking it's some kind of cult/ black magic/ devil worship kinda thing.

I guess it's not really any different from me wishing i was pregnant and throwing a coin in a wishing well (which seemed to work) and then a few months later my 7 year old saying the rays of sunshine that came through the trees in our garden were magic and inviting me to make a wish, again I wished i was pregnant and it worked then too.

Maybe it's a bit like a placebo effect and if I know Mia has done a pretection on my next pregnancy (if there is one) then I'll feel less worried.

Anyone have any thoughts or positive stories for me????

Oh dear Hippy, you really are mad .

As a scientist, I my thoughts are NO NO NO! However, no doubt about it, placebo is a powerful effect, and if it makes you less worried, and more positive in your outlook, then it may make conception more likely, and if you get that result, who cares about the how?

We've all done things like wishing on a star and throwing coins down well for luck (or to really stir it up, prayed to a god) and I suppose most of the time it's harmless - will it cost you money though???

No offence intended of course

Do it . . Its nice to believe a little

I wish on stars EVERY night! Always my same little rhyme . . DH thinks I'm a nutter but what harm is it doing?

lillysa Thanks

oldmum You found me .

I am a bit of a kinda - 'If you believe it will work - it will - just because you were positive. Reflexoloy has worked well for me on that basis.

So I am tempted.

Don't tell my DH though cos he would laugh till he pissed himself!!

It was so sweet when my DS told me that if you sit on the swing when the sun is setting little beams of light come through the trees and you can wish on them.

I squeezed my hips into that swing and i wished - as you know though I wished I was pregnant and should have wished for a healthy embryo instead. Will try that tonight when the sun starts setting.

Anyone had a Mia's spell work - not so much for conception but avoiding MC?????

I've not heard of a Mia's spell, what is it? My partner mentioned wanting to do somethng called a knot charm. I figure every little helps.

I read your thread the other day hippychick and I'm so sorry to hear about what you've been through recently.

I'm a scientist too and think "no" but don't underestimate the placebo effect either! Never heard of Mia's spell to be honest .

I've had four pregnancies. One and three both ended in MMC .

With two and four I had either massage or reflexology on the day before I was due to ovulate and now have DS and 17 weeks with another (and fingers firmly crossed).

Don't know if it really works but I figure being relaxed and believing it could happen can only help so do whatever you need to do.

Hi Hippy,
As you know, I've done the spell for conception and it hasn't yet worked, but I'm not giving up yet. I purchased the spell off ebay and if you have a look stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Wishing-Shop you'll see all the feedback she gets. Which does sound great, but can't say it has worked for me yet (maybe this month?)

I don't see how it can hurt, if you find it reassuring, unless you feel you can't afford to spend the money, but it is a small amount.

I also did a winter solstice "package" spell, which was for a number of things, and some of those things have sort of eventuated, but maybe the spell made no difference, who knows? I actually find it a bit of fun.
