Please someone say soon! Is it likely I may go into labour this weekend? Only other signs - period pains and lots of downward pressure (resulting in lots of poos!) I'm ready for baby now... Fingers crossed!

Sorry I don't have more encouraging news, by with my last one, the show came a week before labour started. I was desperate to get one with things too, but despite loads of walking and sex I ended up going 10 days overdue.

Am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

SecretSlattern · 25/06/2010 13:23

how long is a piece of string . sorry, not helpful, but it really can be a matter of hours, or in my cases a matter of days (11, 10 and 9 days to be exact )

PrivetDancer · 25/06/2010 13:25

Period pains sound promising. I had a bit of a show a couple of days before my waters went, but actually what I thought was my show was nothing compared to the real thing that appeared in my pants when I was in the hospital it really is quite huge, so is it possible you've just had a bit of it?

Lots of poos also good! Didn't happen for me but I've heard a clearout is a good sign! Fingers crossed for you!

Go for a long walk.

nikkisbump · 25/06/2010 13:25

Bugger! Thanks anyway I'm going to try not to get too excited!

Just to chip in with my experiences - I had a show at 9.30 am and he was born at 4.35pm!

Is this your first?

nikkisbump · 25/06/2010 13:32

Yep this is my first! I've also got some lower back pain now too. Just feel a bit achey and 'out of sorts'. Not had any BH or teinges throughout the pregnancy so the show was a bit of a shock!

OP posts:
nikkisbump · 25/06/2010 13:33

Twinges not teinges!

Fingers crossed it won't be long Backache, pressure are all good signs!

How many weeks are you?

cluckyduck · 25/06/2010 13:34

FabIsGettingFit · 25/06/2010 13:37

nikkisbump · 25/06/2010 13:51

Thanks for all your replies! I really hope this is it... Maternity leave is a little boring now!

DomesticG0ddess · 25/06/2010 13:57

Sounds promising. Am laughing at your comment about maternity leave being boring though - I felt exactly the same as you (think I left work a couple of weeks too early and went overdue too), but would love a bit of "maternity leave" these days .... from DS!

nikkisbump · 25/06/2010 14:15

I know - I'll be regretting those words won't I! Haha

You are so lucky to have even a slight sign-I'm 40+1 and nothing, nadda, nowt.

Braxton hicks galore but had them since 33 weeks so no big change there.

I'm so hot and fed up-hope yours comes soon Nikkisbump!

nikkisbump · 25/06/2010 17:10

Aww honeymoonmum, if it makes you feel better, I had absolutely nothing at until 12 today - not even one BH! I was convinced I'd be overdue. Been having contractions this afternoon which have just started building up a little so hopefully this is it! You will be on your way soon too! Good luck

I had a show on Tuesday morning, went into proper labour on Friday evening - it really is unpredictable! The only certainty is - at some point you will have a baby...

honeymoonmum · 25/06/2010 21:02

Good luck Nikkisbump!

del1 · 25/06/2010 22:05
