Tender raggedy bits (warning TMI)

I am 21 weeks with number 2. DD was natural birth and a 3rd degree tear.

Have recently seen the sketch the surgeon made of the tear (made my eyes water) it's a surprise it ever went back together again!

Anyway, in the last few days the scar has been feeling very tender and sore. Has anybody else had this? Does it get any worse, go away, should i be worried?

I would mention it to the midwife next time you see her.

I am 30 weeks pregnant with No 2 after a third degree tear and have a really nasty lump along my scar. I have seen a consultant and he said it was superficial and mostly down to engorgement (nice ) and pressure from the baby but nothing to worry about. You should get it checked out just in case its a weakening along the scar but its more than likely to do with pressure from the baby.

Do you not have a check up at the hospital anyway? I had to have a check up at 21 weeks just to make sure there were no problems following the first birth but maybe that's not standard practice?

I have a consultants appointment booked but not until 36 weeks. I have told them that is a bit late in the day really and MW is trying to get an earlier one but who knows if that will ever happen.

Not due to see MW for another 7 weeks so maybe should give her a ring and see what she says. It makes sense that it would be pressure from the baby.
