Hi,

I am writing to see what everyone else is doing with regard to PFEs! I try and do a set of '10 short' and '10 long' every day but some days forget and beat myself up that I am going to become incontinent and have a tricky birth!

Does everyone else do them religiously??!!

Thanks

Not as much as I should...

But doing them right now, as I bet will everyone else who sees this thread!

Falsley · 24/06/2010 12:26

yep, sat at my desk doing them now, do you think you could start this thread everyday to remind me?

kapars · 24/06/2010 15:32

You're supposed to do 50 day though it is impossible to rememeber. I have got progressively better particularly after reading scare stories - and try and do them whenever I think about it which is more frequently as labour looms. Now 38 weeks...

Poohbearsmom · 24/06/2010 15:38

Thank you for reminding me

japhrimel · 24/06/2010 17:30

I try and do a set whenever I remember, which is pretty often as any SPD or hip pain reminds me!

Don't forget to do the lower abdominal ones too.

I've been really lax and will probably be punished by having to wear Tena Lady for the rest of my life!

Yes, someone needs to start a thread everyday to remind us.

I guess if you've got Outlook on your PC you could set up reminders - lol - or maybe reminders on your mobile.

Jacksmybaby · 24/06/2010 20:19

japhrimel what are the lower abdominal ones?

MoJangles · 25/06/2010 08:00

I'm doing mine whenever I clean my teeth - that way I do 3 minutes twice a day and don't have to try to remember any other time!

Jacksmybaby · 25/06/2010 08:18

I'm now doing mine whenever I see this thread so thanks for the reminder planner!

whostolemyname · 25/06/2010 08:24

My tip is to do 10 every time you have a cup of tea - easy 50 a day!

yellowflowers · 25/06/2010 09:54

I keep forgetting so did a mammoth session a few days ago and now have thrush - could that be related? I already leak a bit of wee when I cough or sneeze so it'll only get worse I am sure - am quite worried. And I'm only 15 weeks!

HelenaCC · 25/06/2010 14:44

Physiotherapist at aquanatal suggested doing a set of 5 for five seconds + 5 quick working up to 10 for 10 seconds + 10 quick at least 3 if not 4 or 5 times a day (and bearing in mind it gets more difficult to hold for that long as pg progresses, maybe drop back down a bit). Im managing a 10 set to and from work on the bus and only started them at like 29 weeks. I have a middle of the day reminder on my work diary but I dont get round to doing it as I get busy. I always forget at the weekend so if I do one set on a weekend day Im doing well.

Does anyone else find them a total bore?

I also dont know what the lower abdominal ones are.

knittakid · 25/06/2010 15:19

Where did you all learned how to do them? I am sure I do them incorrectly (if at all).
