Hi all,

Well, basically I have been having morning all day sickness for a few weeks (currently 8 weeks). Last night was a bad night, was up a few times being sick and so this morning I phoned in sick, as I am exhausted!

But....I feel really bad. Like everyone will think that I cant cope, and am being a wimp.

Not sure what advice I am after, just wanted to share

you poor thing, it's horrible isn't it. Am 24 weeks now and still sick and rarely make it into the office, however am managing to work from home. Best advice is take it as easy as you can, eat little bits and often and try to keep hydrated even if you only eat ice lollies.
As for what other people thing - not relevant really you can't help how your body reacts to being pregnant (mine seems to go into meltdown every time) all you can do is whats best for you and your baby. If it gets really bad see your GP as you can get anti sickness meds which have made a real difference to me.
hope you feel better soon

You shouldn't feel bad at all - its not you're faking it!

I second Hevster - make sure you keep hydrated, especially in this heat.

Feel better soon

Thanks ladies! You have made me smile today (feels like first time in ages!)

I know I cant help it, just feel like I should be coping better somehow . There always seems to be someone willing to tell you how easy it was for them!

Thanks for all the advice, will try ice lollies I think! Slowly sipping ice water at the min

I haven't found anything easy about being pregnant apart from the getting pregnant bit! Hang in there and hopefully you will feel better soon

If you're feeling bad about being off, you're probably not the kind of person that would take time off if you didn't need it. So with that in mind, you must really need it.

Cut yourself some slack - there are things about being pregnant that really suck! I haven't found any of it easy.

you sound like me - I feel guilty when I phone in sick, which is quite often actually, even when I am severely unwell.
Dont worry - the only people who think youre a wimp are the ones who had a very different pregnancy than you are having. You know yourself that anyone who felt like you do could not put on a brave face and go to work.
Lots of hugs. Youll feel better soon - then you'll worry cos you dont feel sick any more
