Hi I'm 39 + 3 and for last few weeks been getting loads of pressure down below, baby been head down 3/5s engaged for last 3 weeks.
I've been keeping really active still, run my own business so hard not to, even though been winding down there's always something going on. When I have relaxed been getting really stiff and sore, can't roll over or get out of bed very easily and can't stand on one leg, put socks shoes on etc. Just the usual stuff really.
Anyway this morning I woke up and rolled over and got out of bed with ease, no pain and the pressure has gone. Is it because the baby has moved down further or could it have come back up? Still plenty of movement today and bump looks about the same. I feel better than I have done in weeks, which is quite worrying at this stage, thought it was only going to get worse.

I think your baby is on it's way! I felt just like this the day before I went into labour. Good luck

Ooo how exciting! Please tell me that it was also very quick and painless! or is that too much to ask?

Sorry to disappoint but it was a long and arduous labour. 30 hours!! But all went smoothly and it was painless (after I got the epidural I had begged for! ). You'll be fine. The female body is an amazing thing!

Ah you've given me hope. I'm nearly 37wks and feel rubbish, but if it gets better then bring it on....

Good luck wiith the birth.

I hope the old wives tales are right?
I am due tommorow, and have been an emotional wreck, grumpy, painfull twinges swollen feet etc for weeks now.Havn't wanted to anything but sit down and eat!
However, I woke up feeling great yesterday, and today!
Not sure if engaged, as havn't seen midwife for a few weeks. But baby has stopped moving as much, and feels a lot lower.
Fingers crossed we are both near the end?

Well nothing happening here yet, had a few twinges last couple of nights but nothing since. Still not feeling as sore and uncomfortable though very tired today. My fingers are crossed too del, though wouldn't mind a couple more days as still got quite a few things to do.

I felt like this for a good few days before going into labour - was a whirling dirvish of energy!! For what it's worth, my labour was under two hours and second stage just two mins and I've recovered relly quickly so you never know. Good luck!

Well, I had sex last night for the first time in ages. Very uncomfortable, but I've had a show this morning? So not sure if it is a sign?
I feel really shakey and a bit like i'm getting a cold.
My nipples have just started to leak like mad in the last few minutes aswell!
Not really had this before!
OOH a I clutching at straws?

Funkycherry · 25/06/2010 11:06

Good luck del1 . Sounds like things are getting going.
