Safe time period before second baby after C-Section?

Hello all
I had a emergency C-Section last December. Still have numbness (when does that go?) Was wondering if anyone had any thought as to when is a safe time for healing before we can consider trying for another? GP's suggest 18 months - I'm keen to start earlier.
Any thoughts/experiences?

I was told 12 months after my c-section

I had a similar thread going recently, I was told 2 years (!!) but everyone else mentionned 12 mths.
