Confused about need for triple test

I had a nuchal fold private scan and therefore the blood tests and had a low risk result. I've read that I therefore shouldn't have the triple test but am confused as to why not, surely there is no harm in also having it? I'm at the MW in the morning. What am I missing? Thanks

isn't the triple test the same as the blood tests you've already had?

I think the nuchal + bloods gives a better risk profile than the triple test so you'd not be getting any more info than you have already, and may get told you have a higher risk - as they would not be factoring in the nuchal fold size.

Yes, I see, so I guess that's why they advise not to have it. I'll speak to her tomorrow then, thanks.

It's not going to give you as accurate a result. It may show you having a lower or higher risk - doesn't matter, either way, it's just not as accurate so doesn't give you new information.
