Noooo! It's going to be hot again this week!

Sorry, just wanted to whinge! I cannot abide the heat - my bump is massive (39 weeks) and am on the count down to popping. My ankles and feet swell up, my fingers are like sausages and I simply cannot get to sleep at all when it is hot.

i'm also getting the most infuriating heat rash along my bikini line, where my bump has popped out and my pants rub (sorry if TMI!). I can't put my normal cream on this and so it is driving me nuts. Will have to resort to wet towels draped over me.

and apparently my snoring managed to wake my hubby even though I am in the spare room! And I keep dribbling out of the side of my mouth.

Sigh. Never mind - on the plus side, it means all my washing dries super quick and I am on maternity leave, so might be able to sit out for a little while.

Hang in there haggisfish, u dont have long to go

LittleMissSnowShine · 21/06/2010 05:52

Haggisfish - I'm 31 weeks and feeling your pain!! Loving that Scholl Crackling Ice footspray - that and icecream are just about making the heat bearable and I'm in Ireland ffs, not exactly the med lol

Im with you! I actually groaned when i saw the weather forecast for the week. Its the night time that gets me, cannot seem to get cool.
Heres to some nice heavy rain next week!

Haggisfish · 21/06/2010 11:09

Absolutely kitty! nighttime is he worst for me, too. I did get some spray bottles from tesco gardening section and fill them with water - they are lovely to spray yourself with in the middle of the night!

Oooo good Idea Haggisfish It was hot during my last pregnancy too and I used to take a cold wet flannel to bed but that soon warms up! I will invest in some water sprays.
I do have a fan in bedroom but just too noisey to sleep with.
You just wait, the minute we have our beautiful babies here and want to go out walking with the prams the heavens will open!
Good luck, could all happen soon for you! I've another 9weeks to go

flyingdoll · 21/06/2010 12:14

Oh i know, bloody sun. 24 weeks pregnant this week, feeling hot, fat and sweaty! I am now addicted to checking weather websites praying for rain. I am a miserable cow.

starshaker · 21/06/2010 12:20

Trick for bedtime. when u wash your pjs leave them a little damp and in the fridge put them on right before bed and they will keep you cool long enough to go to sleep

mellymooks · 21/06/2010 12:44

Just sleep naked

notnowbernard · 21/06/2010 12:47

36w

Bring on the heat

Gives me an even greater excuse to do sod all

notnowbernard · 21/06/2010 12:48

I am getting ahead of myself - I am 34w

Agree sleep, naked. FAR more comfortable whatever the temperature

Haggisfish · 21/06/2010 12:51

I do sleep naked, but am still far too hot. May well try the cold pyjamas - sounds good. Am just sitting in my darkened lounge with the windows open! And not naked, I hasten to add!

Cold pyjamas - genius!! I've been sleeping with no blankets, window open, wearing next to nothing and I still end up waking up cos I'm too hot. But during the day I keep needing to fall asleep, because I'm tired and hot.. you just can't win!! Oh well, I do have to agree with nownowbernard - at least being hot, pregnant and tired gives you a great excuse to put your feet up, eat a lolly and peruse mumsnet instead of working or doing any housework lol

notnowbernard · 21/06/2010 13:06

I haven't slept properly for weeks tbh. Not because of the weather, I just cannot get comfortable
