Since I hit the 6 week mark I have had severe nausea, the runs, bloatying and really bad wind and cramps. Is this normal? Thinking perhaps a visit to the GP wouldn't go amiss?

I have had this on and off throughout my whole pregnancy! I'm 38 and a half weeks now and pooing 4 times a day at the moment, it's ridiculous! And don't get me started on the farting...

I used to very very rarely fart and only poo once every other day. OH is in awe of me now!

I have had it for the last 2 weeks, but much worse this week (week 6)

Wind and bloating yes, the runs no. Constipation yes.
Grim.

Nausea and diahorrea is the norm for me, I feel dreadful with this one and I felt dreadful in my last pregnancy too. I began to feel a little better after week 13 last time (but that did co-incide with a hospital stay for rehydration). Hoping to avoid that this time round.

Diarrhea and wind were my first symptoms - lasted from about week 5 - week 8 if I recall. I think I posted a thread about it because I was worried that it was supposed to be constipation and I was the wrong way round.

If you have the diarrhea really bad, do go and see your GP in case it's something else. But otherwise, just keep your fluids up. For me, it has died down now (14 weeks) so hopefully just a first trimester problem!!

Also, I found the wind and bloating gave me cramps which felt like period pains and freaked me out.

Hope that helps a bit!!

I had all of this - and very severe too. I didn't know I was pregnant during 1st trimester (due to condition causing lack of ovulation etc - wasn't supposed to be possible!)

I therefore went to doctors a few times with these symptoms and they diagnosed stomach flu and gastritis so despite being normal it can be very bad!!!

If it is really bad the doctor can provide some things that will help, but I don't think they advise any of the over the counter stuff for diarrhea. Remember to keep up fluid intake!

i was wondering about this too. Am about 7 weeks and have been so bloated I have a pot belly and I've had terrible wind which my fella thinks is hilarious!!! I have also had some diarrhea not long after my BFP but I think that might have been anxiety cos I get a funny tummy when I'm stressed or nervous. However I now have constipation....... oh the joys xx

Went to see the Doctor on Friday about this and he siad it was gastroenteritis so after a pretty rough few days I am finally feeling much more human!!! Thank goodness, I thought I was set to carry on like that till week 12

I went from constipation to runs a few times during first trimester and did indeed have the bloating and wind to go with it too. Fingers crossed it starts to calm down for you soon. x

Hello OP!

I'm currently 34+1, and had exactly what you describe from 6-12ish weeks. Then the nausea dwindled (unless I got overtired), but I've had the wind & not-quite-diarrhea (but definitely not constipation!) for the duration!

I figured this was normal for me, since exactly what I get with pms normally!

Embrace the wind, it can be quite spectacular! (although trapped wind when your bowels/intestines are somewhere up in your ribcage is PAINFUL! Shock)

Take it easy! x
