Hello
I am 19 + 3 today, and still haven't felt anything. Bump is coming along nicely though. Midwife said not to expect anything until at least 20 weeks, but I can't help worrying......any other experiences/thoughts? Thanks

Is this your first? I didn't feel with my first until about 21 weeks. The second started moving around 15.5 weeks, but then is not regular. I am 19+6 now and haven't felt a proper movement for a couple of days. But, I guess, it is normal at this stage.

Hi - thanks for replying. Yes, it is my first. Midwife said totally normal, but I am such a worrier!

My first I didnt feel anything until around 21 weeks, do you know if you have an anterior placenta? (at the front) coz that can muffle any movements meaning you feel them later when the baby is a bit bigger.
I really wouldnt worry though, its normal!

I second Kity's ideas about the placenta. I felt movements very late on with my last DC and very few movements all the way through the pregnancy. I was really worried at first but found out it was because the placenta was at the front acting as a big cushion for my DS to kick against

21 weeks - and even then I wasn't quite sure that it was the baby for another week or two.

Hi Olivetti,

Please don't worry. I just had my 20 week scan (20+3) and was a bit nervous because I haven't felt anything either.

The sonographer said this was really common and the scan showed the baby moving round loads - I just can't feel it. My placenta is not in the way either so it's not that.

Sure the same will be true in your case x

Thanks very much everyone, I really appreciate all your kind replies. Pixie - my friend did say the same thing happened when she had her first, she went to the 20 week scan and baby was moving around like crazy, but she couldn't feel a thing. Scan not until 30th June, so a bit of a wait, but thank you all so much for putting my mind at rest.
