Would love to know this as well! Found out two days ago and am already sick as a dog!!!

swiperfox · 12/08/2005 11:08

apparently ginger biscuits do the trick?

marne · 12/08/2005 11:09

I couldnt find anything, i went to my GP and got some tablets, they work a treat.

munz · 12/08/2005 11:10

ginger ale - apparently protein and carbs as well (my excuse for eating extra crisps!)

when are you due kittypower?

kittypower · 12/08/2005 11:31

I'm not sure swiperfox, when are you due? I have kind of known for a few days but I only did the test this morning and found out for certain, so it is still a bit new and scary at the mo! I am just so sick and feel awful but I am at work so am having to pretend I am fine. Also another thing I am going on hols tom night, so you think I need to see a doctor before i go?

ipec. from the health shop. They are little tiny tasteless white tablets, just let them disolve on your tongue.

swiperfox · 12/08/2005 11:40

I only found out a couple of days ago too - it was a big shock as it wasn't planned! I'm due roughly 10th April but will have a caesarean so will be the end of march. Haven't been to the doctor yet though so thats only what i\ve tried to work out!!

Is this your first?

kittypower · 12/08/2005 11:53

Yep this is my first and wasn't planned either, quite a shock!

Aww well, welcome to Mumsnet!! You'll get loads of help and support on here - and you'll get very easily addicted!!

If you know the date of thew first day of your last period you can work out your due date before you see the doctor. If you are only just pregnant you can prob see doc when you get back from hols, depends how many weeks you are

FairyMum · 12/08/2005 12:04

Dry biscuits, coke and ice lollies helped me. I had really bad morning sickness with all mine, but my doc adviced against tablets in the first 12 weeks as not entirely sure how safe they are. Lots of sleep also helped me!

Frizbe · 12/08/2005 12:06

2nd the ginger ale, just make sure its ale and not beer!

munz · 12/08/2005 13:46

oh yes beer makes things worse, as does water I found.

or a bit of dry toast/dry busicuts

if you look down the list, i'm sure there was a thread about this only a couple of weeks ago.

Acupuncture or reflexology is worth a go. I got very bad sickness (still with me at 28wks) and found that i tried very hard to eat was i thought was right instead of listening to what my body wanted. Go with a little of what you fancy at regular intervals - it's better to be keeping something down then nothing at all.
