im 6 weeks pregnant and ive been having 'period pains' (even though im not bleeding) i am a little scared though because sometimes they pain is quiet severe then it just disappears (but carries on the whole day and night.

ive had this pain from when i was late for my period (i thought i would get my period because of the pains)

has any one had any of these pains in the first weeks of pregnancy ?
like i said i am a little scared of a miscarriage this is my first pregnancy

thanks x

This type of pain is really common at this stage. I had it from about 5 week to 9 weeks, on and off, sometimes after exercise, but no bleeding or other M/C symptoms. I think the uterus is just reacting to the expanding pregnancy. Miscarriage is very common, especially in the first 8 weeks or so, but if you have no spotting/bleeding, the signs are good. I've had a number of early M/c and all started with spotting, not pain (though many women have bleeding and don't M/C).

Good luck and congratulations!
