I feel like I am getting obssessed with prams! We went to john lewis today to look at these prams again and still love them!
We asked the sales lady about sleeping in the carrycot and she said that only the peach is suitable for this. I'm sure I read somewhere that baby can sleep in the apple carrycot as long as you change the mattress. Anybody know which is true?
John Lewis is selling them at £455 for the pushchair plus flavour pack and £155 for the carrycot. Anybody know of anywhere that does them cheaper or is this a good price, hard to do research as they don't allow selling online! (I'm in Chelmsford by the way!)
One last question!! - we like the imperial blue colour, do you think this is a good unisex colour?
Thanks for all your help!

We've got the apple and carrycot was sold as being allowed for overnight sleeping and that was with the mattress it came with. Have you looked at the icandy website? It's a really good sized carrycot and lasted DD past six months. Think they fix the price I'm afraid.
With anything blue people will assume you have a boy but do you care? My friend had a blue bugaboo and it was always assumed she had a boy.
FWIW I love love love our pram and find it so comfy to push. The habdle come up really high which is brill and lots of room for shopping underneath. It's huge though!

if you can get along to a baby show before your baby is born you will pick up a display model for a discounted price this is how i acquired my pech blossom! may even try pram shops for ex display models or look on ebay and just buy new mattress

I have one of the original Apples and I love it. Really good size carrycot (which dd hated but hey!) and I loved the snug cosy seat unit. Really good versatile pram.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses, I have checked out the iCandy website and they say the carrycot is suitable for overnight sleeping....I wonder why John Lewis do not know this? Is there a new carrycot out or have John Lewis got their information wrong?

I understand the risk with going blue, but wondered if the shade of blue was more unisex? I like the grape but think it is girlie, not keen on the red and really don't like the orange. Husband says blue or black!!

I don't know if their is a baby show before I am due now, (mid October) any ideas? Ha, now I have let out the secret that I have loads of time and possibly getting carried away!!

Thanks again for your help so far!

Hello

even though the shops cannot sell iCandy over the internet, they can give you price quotes. I have recently bought the peach and as I live abroad, I didn't want to have to visit all the shops. I searched for peach stockists and then emailed them all for their quotes. All shops were happy to give online quotes but just remineded me that they wouldn't be able to sell to me online.

And yes there was a difference in price between each and every shop!!!!

Hope that helps

Hi, I have the Apple Jogger and DD has always slept in the carrycot with the original mattress. She is now 7 months and still sleeps in it for naps/at my parents etc.

WRT the price, I believe iCandy fix the price of their stuff, but some sellers may do a package with, for example, the car seat, to make it better value. We ended up with a car seat & base all in. HTH.

We got an iCandy from Lesters in Manchester for much cheaper than John Lewis. It may be worth checking local shops to see if you can get a similar deal in Essex? Good luck!

Hello
We have t
he Aplle Jogger and DD stayed in the carrycot until she was able to turn over and sit up. She often slept in it during the day for naps (instead of a moses basket, downstairs).
We got ours from That's my Baby in Swindon. I like it a lot, but you need to know that it has to be maintained in the same way as a mountain bike, i.e. remember to lubricate the front wheel or it sticks, and keep the tyres pumped up.

I would phone round all the stockists if I were you, as you have time, and get quotes. As you've had a good look at it in person, you know what it will be like, whichever shop you get it from. Then you can probably order over the phone. That's My Baby took a deposit from us when we ordered, and then the balance when we picked it up. I assume other independent stores probably do the same?

Good luck for October!
