Healthy and low fat post-partum/breastfeeding recipes?

Hi there
Can anyone recommend a recipe book or website of recipes containing low fat healthy recipes suitable post-partum when breastfeeding? My understanding is that it is safe to eat low fat whilst breastfeeding as your body has stored a lot of fat during pregnancy, but that you need to ensure your diet doesn't eliminate key vitamins, minerals and nutrients. I would love to get hold of some recipes to have ready to go. Thanks so much!

You really shouldn't be going on a diet when breastfeeding. By all means eat healthily, but low fat isn't the way to go I don't think. ANd you may be one of the unlucky ones like me who won't shift an ounce til breastfeeding is finished

It's totally fine to diet while breastfeeding, after the first couple of months, see here.

Your diet isn't that delicate while breastfeeding, starving mothers end up with fat babies, while they look dreadful. Don't worry about key vitamins etc etc - your body sorts that out.

Thanks very much NotQuiteCockney that is a helpful site. My understanding is that it is fine to eat low-fat when breastfeeding as your body stores fat during pregnancy that is why you gain weight in addition to the baby weight! I am not talking about extreme low-carb no calories type dieting, as I do a lot of sport I am quite into nutrition etc and eating exactly what your body needs for the activity it is doing, and for the baby.

I think low fat should be fine. Or moderately low fat, anyway. Breastmilk is fairly fatty, but I expect it would still be fatty if you were taking in no fat, or very little fat.

Eat 3 slices of cake instead of 4.
