Have noticed that at least once a day I have a slight gush and the discharge is quite watery. It doesn't normally happen more than once a day although today when having a pee I did feel a gush of something as well. When I checked it looked whitish so wasn't worried as heard that amniotic fluid is clear. But then just read in my pregnancy book that watery discharge can be a sign of leaking fluid. Anyone any advice?

Phone midwife, try and collect some on a sanitary towel. Apparently your waters have a distinctive smell of cut hay and midwives can tell if it is your waters or not by smelling them. I read that increased discharge can be a sign labour is imminent...!

What Haggisfish said... Really does sound like it's your waters.

It could well be your waters, mine leaked a little like this. enough to make my pad damp and it smelled like marzipan. Havn't heard the 'cut hay' smell, it really did smell like marzipan!

has been going on for about a month, not every day though. I did mention it to my doctor once who said not to worry and when I had an internal exam last week my cervix was closed. It does smell sweet but not like marzipan! am booked for a c section on monday but worried about infection. think might be a quick visit to the hospital tonight just to check is ok!
