How soon can you reliably test...?

I got a BFP this evening, I couldn't wait til my period was due to test ! However I'm not due until around the 20th, so how come I got a BFP so early?!

You must have ovulated earlier than usual.

Or its twins.

Thanks, the news is still sinking in! By my calculations I'm 3 weeks and 5 days

With DD I was 3 weeks and 4 days when I tested positive too...
