Hi everyone. My husband and I are relocating to Colchester within the next few weeks and since our decision to move have learnt we're pregnant! I'm keen to meet any new mums in the area and wonder if there are any clubs for new mums/pregnant first timers like myself as I won't know anyone in the area??

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

There's lots going on in Colchester for families and new parents. There is a local parenting magazine called Kidaround - they also have a website with local listings too - they have copies in the library.

Have a look on the local mn board as there are meet ups every now and again.

Whereabouts in Colchester are you moving to?

A good way to meet people is going to nct classes - have a look on their website and find the local branches number.

Ah thanks a lot Deloola. Always a bit worrying moving to a new area when you're expecting your first so I really appreciate your reply. I've thought about NCT classes and also some Yoga classes but just need to find out more info on them. Will get on the case. We're not moving for a couple of months yet, moving to the Hythe area, so it'll be good to have an idea of groups to join etc for when we move. Thanks again.

I can recommend this person for pregnancy yoga - you'll need to give her a call soon though as I think there is only her and one other person qualified for pg yoga in the area.

I think there is a community centre in the Hythe that is also linked with teh children's centre - google children's centres colchester and I'm sure it'll come up - they will offer loads of groups etc

Hey, I live in Maldon which is about 20 mins away. There is lots going on!

Lots going on. Good place for kids. If you need a good osteopath, let me know I can recommend a really good one. VPA my DS3 was born in Maldon.

Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate your help and advice.

Deloola I'll give your recommendation a call - fab thanks.

VirtualPA and ILGH, good to know lots going on in the area. I've been so excited since falling pregnant and can't wait to meet new mums-to-be for support etc. I guess this is the time in your life that your social network begins to change and you meet more people with children than not! Still feeling very surreal at the mo but am thrilled!
