I am only 13 weeks pregnant with twins and have lost 3kilo's since pre pregnancy. Not sure what's normal

What does your doctor/midwife say?

Did you mean 29 weeks? if so I would of assumed you'd put on more, have you been eating normally?

starshaker · 10/06/2010 18:11

Ive only just realised but will mention it to them next week when i see them. Yeah im 29 weeks pregnant now

Were you slim anyway? apparently if you are already overweight it doesn't matter if you don't put on too much weight. Do you have a big bump?

starshaker · 10/06/2010 18:50

i wasnt slim before and im just about to put an updated bump pic on my profile. Some people think its huge and others thhink its small considering its twins

I think you look great, bump looks fine to me, not that I'm an expert! You've probably lost weight elsewhere and put it on your bump, so once you've given birth you'll be thinner than you were. Result I would say! Have a chat with your midwife anyway & good luck

I would say your bump looks fine, can't believe you have only put on 5lbs! Lucky you, good luck with your twins!

A friend who has just given birth with twins definitely lost fat/weight herself when pregnant - the babies were just hoovering up everything.

I think she regrets not stuffing herself more now and making herself put on more weight as she's got nothing in reserve for the bf'ing and general running around/being knackered that two babies means.

I am eating so much at the moment, i cant see how its possible to eat more lol. Need to up my iron intake though as my levels have dropped a lot in the past few weeks

I wouldn't worry. I only put on 11 lbs total with DD (and I wasn't overweight to start with. She was fine.

Romilly70 · 12/06/2010 08:17

I'm 19 weeks and have lost about 4 lbs. Was probably about 1 stone overweight anyway, so relieved about that.

As long as you are eating good quality food, the babies will get all they need.
good luck!
