hi, am just wondering what braxton hicks can feel like, this mornin ive been getting occasional lower back ache and like tightening of my bump lower down, an the past couple of days have had quite bad backache on and off, a warm bath helps with this tho, just curious if its normal at nearly 25wks to be getting this?

I've had lots of BH since early on (am now 24 weeks as well) but I don't generally get backache with them, just the bump tightening. Can be whole bump or just the lower part of the bump. Not painful but sometimes uncomfortable. They should just be random - if they start coming regularly like every x minutes, get them checked out. I do get backache which seems unrelated to the BH - do you feel like it's definitely connected in your case? I would say a certain amount of backache is quite normal, but if worried, check with your midwife. And hope you feel better.

cheers 2ndDestiny, the backache probably isnt connected have had that for a couple of days without the bump tightening, an yh they are completely random no pattern i can notice anyway

The bump tightening certainly sounds like BH - I've been getting them intermittently over the past few weeks (am currently at 28 + 5). I sometimes find that they make me feel like I need to pee but it's just the BH!

I believe I read that BH actually happen throughout pregnancy (for good reasons - helps the blood to circulate or some such); I guess it just becomes more noticeable later on.
