Today at the midwife i handed in a sample and i have quite a bit of protein in my urine. Was asked about anti biotics and wondered if they can cause the protein

Don't think they cause the protein but it can indicate an infection (cos bugs are made of protein) so maybe she is asking if you are on Abs for a UTI?

anitbiotics are a great way to not get protein in your urine, as , hopefully, they get rid of the infection causing said protein.

im on antibiotics for a chest infection but the course finished today. Hoping its something simple, dont wanna have to be in hospital and think the twins need to cook for a wee while longer (only 28 weeks)

Can't see an obvious reason why amox would cause proteinuria....

Oh well will just have to wait till i get the blood test results back to see if its anything to worry about

Hi star waves from August thread I've just put on August about protein, etc and have also just finished Co-Amoxiclav, similar to amoxicillian for a grumbing appendix but no one asked me about them how strange!
