15 weeks today

dont feel pregnant at all

put on a stone since getting pregnant, dont have a bump, im just fat, have no symptoms apart from being tired, but thats normal.

Cant feel my uterus above my pubic bone, and apparently according to the books, I should be able to by now.

Im convinced I am going to see MW next weeek (when I will be 16 weeks) and she wont find a heart beat on the doppler.

Im convinced

to the point, I havent sent off my maternity exemption cert, and when my friend gets all excited and rubs my tummy, I wince. Im getting realy depressed about it, wtf is wrong with me.

this is my 4th pregnancy, i have a healthy DD who is 3.5, and ive had two spontanious mc at about 7 weeks since her.

Sorry you're feeling down.

Do you think this is your way of dealing with the past mc's and protecting yourself by ignoring/ being in denial about this pg - in case it happens again?

I know I was a bit like that at the beginning of this pg after a MC at 6ish weeks last time.

OnlyWantsOne · 09/06/2010 17:38

No, because I was happy and excited, and fine up until about a week ago, when I realised that actually no, i dont think my uterus is getting any bigger, and no i cant feel it...

I'm sure you know this already but having no symptoms doesn't necessarily mean a thing, and bump size and timing of when it appears varies wildly. And I have no idea about the uterus thing but don't think I have ever felt mine / wouldn't know what to feel for.

Only thing I can suggest is hang in there until your MW appointment and hopefully everything will be fine and your mind will be put at rest. However if you are feeling desperately anxious and depressed in the meantime then maybe you need to see a GP?

Sorry don't know if any of that is helpful at all and hope it doesn't sound patronising.

If its a help, I've been like this for the last 38 weeks. I still wake up in the morning and don't feel pregnant, and I was due today . Like Jacks... says after a mc your brain really shuts down to protect you, even if on one level you're really happy. Don't be afraid to phone your midwife- why wait and be miserable? A lot of places have drop in services you can go to and if you explain your history, they will understand why you need extra reassurance.

i'm 16 weeks and onlywantsone, you have summed up exactly how i am feeling. This is my first pregnancy but I had scares early on where I was convinced that I had lost the baby.Scans showed that everything was fine but now I'm dreading the next one in case something has gone wrong.
I too have no bump, and don't feel anything but tired, my boobs aren't even sore anymore. It's hard to get excited about the baby when I'm so worried.
So rest assured onlywantsone, you are not alone in these thoughts, I understand completely and hope that we are just being paranoid

OnlyWantsOne · 09/06/2010 18:45

yay im not the only one.... thats not really a good thing for us all though.

I had some bleeding at 8 10 and 11 weeks, and although scans at the time showed things to be ok, I am not at all excited.

I think this can be one of the effects of MC tbh. It is so sad not to enjoy a pregnancy when things do finally seem to be going right.

I'm 15 weeks, have one DS but had one MMC before him and one after. I do sort of feel pregnant but I feel like I'm in denial in a way, to protect myself I suppose. I almost felt shocked when I saw what seemed to be a huge baby on the screen when I had my scan two weeks ago but it still doesn't feel quite real.

Where I live MW aren't allowed to do the heartbeat at 16 weeks thing anymore...when I was pregnant with DS she always said I could drop by and have a listen when I was feeling worried (which I did on a regular basis).

I feel like I have never enjoyed a pregnancy which makes me .

I hope all goes well for you and that you start to feel pregnant soon.
