Hi all

Im 9 weeks pregnant with my 2nd dc. I am hoping for some honest and helpful advice.

I have woke up this morning with back pain and brown discharge (sorry if tmi) like at the start of af.

Im really worried and not sure what to do. I am going to make an appointment to see the gp but should i be scanned to?

I never had anything like this with my dd and really am unsure.

I would really like any advice that you can give about similar experiences and the outcome, good or bad as i feel i need to prepare myself for every outcome.

thank you all in advance... one very worried tiffs

tiffs ask your gp for a referral to the epu if your hospital has one.

i have had this at 6 weeks in a previous pg and was sent for a scan and seen the hb.

although i have had it when i miscarried aswell.

brown blood doesn't mean a mc for sure but you should get checked out, just to put your mind at rest. sooo many women on here will be along to tell you their positive stories.

good luck.

thank you so much for replying mumatron,

I have rang my gp and the receptionist told me to ring the epu at 8.30 to see if i can self refer! so thats what i will do. fingers crossed i can go down there and not have to mess around going to see the gp first.

Sorry that you have experienced this to!

I have a bad feeling that i just cant shake off...... hopefully im wrong but will just have to wait and see,

thank you again for replying! x

Hi all

I had my scan today and everything seems ok at the moment. I saw the little heartbeat and saw the little bean.

they said i have a small bleed area but hopefully it should clear up by itself.

thank you all for your comments

Hi Tiffs

I am nearly 14 weeks last week I had a gush of blood was terrified when for a private scan (nhs wouldn't do it for 6 days) was a burst blood vessel baby was fine just had to rest. I know sometimes the cervix can become inflamed during pregnancy and bleed which is quite common.x
