At the risk of sounding a bit daft I was just wondering if it is okay not to be weeing all the time. I am 7 weeks to date but so far apart from sore breasts and very mild nausea I don't really feel very different. Is there anyone out there who didn't wee more than usual at the beginning? I guess I'm just being over anxious so any feedback would be welcome :-)

Can't say I did with my other 2 and don't really seem to be doing so with this one either. I think you become more aware of when you pee because you know you're 'meant' to need to go all the time. You might be going more, just don't feel like it because you never paid attention previously

You're not likely to be weeing more at just 7 weeks!

It doesn't happen until the baby is putting pressure on your bladder and there's a lot less room in there for your bladder to get full.

You have that to look forward to

Thank you knackered and notjustapuppymum. I feel more reassured and still a bit daft lol

It can be a symptom of early pregnancy but wasn't for me this time.

One of the other reasons some women pee more is to do with hormones irritating the bladder and extra blood flow to that region.

Many books and sites make out is it a given but it most certainly is not.

I don't think your daft as everywhere you read info it says you will pee more.

I have never peed more with any of mine but I am a nurse and therefore have the bladder capacity of about 5 people!!

glad you asked that question as i just googled in as i don't wee anymore than i did before - glad its normal x

Thanks mummy1868 and bumperlicious. It does seem to pop up as an early sign on all the reading i've done and on another discussion board someone was saying how already at 7 weeks they were going to the loo 6 times in the night. It's ironic really as I always thought i went to the loo loads but now I'm starting to give more credit to my bladder :-)

I just haven't wee'd in this pregnancy at all, I only seem to have one long proper satisfying wee about once a week in the middle of the night. the rest of the time, i go for hours without weeing - totally not normal for me as I usually have a weak bladder.
I think its just a bit irritable with the extra pressure on the bladder that has got me.

Just watch for water infections - smell or colour change or pain. Get yourself to doc asap if you do!

I've only been getting up once or twice in the night. How much fluid are you drinking? You should be trying to drink 2 litres of water a day I think.

MrsGangly · 09/06/2010 09:46

I'm now 33 weeks and can count on one hand the number of times that I have needed to get up in the middle of the night to go to the loo.

You will be weeing all the time when the baby is big enough to reduce the allocated space to store liquids within your boduy

In my case it was the last couple of weeks before DS was born.
