Worried - brown watery discharge (TMI) at 8 weeks

Hi. I've got myself in a panic as last night and this morning I had some brown watery discharge (sorry!) with some very light cramping that lasted about an hour. I am eight weeks exactly today. At 6 weeks I had a red/watery bleed which seemed quite heavy at the time. Doc and I were convinced it was m/c (I had m/c in Feb this year) so went for scan which showed 6wk with heartbeat. Was really reassured by that but now latest discharge has me in a panic. No more since this morning. Stomach feels icky as if I have upset, but no cramps. I am booked in for a scan on Thurs but not coping with the wait!

Ugh, it's so frustrating when this happens. I had light spotting a few times in the first 12.5 weeks, and it's terrifying each time. I am 16w tomorrow, so hopefully that can give you hope, at least.

Good luck on thursday - let us know how you get on.

Thanks VMCD. It does give me some hope - just have to keep trying to stay positive!

I know, it's really hard to stay positive at times like this . Good luck x

sorry you're having a bit of a nightmare. To my completely untrained eyes it could be left overs from your 6 wk bleed maybe? Brown is a good sign so fingers crossed

Hope so, thanks knackered. Now feel like I have a urine infection - the day just keeps getting better, doesn't it.

Poor you, discharge is just such a worry. I have had bloody discharge occasionally since 16 weeks, am now almost 21 weeks. Sometimes these things just happen. Could it be thrush? That can cause weird discharge. Do you still have your pg symptoms?

huffpuff75 · 08/06/2010 18:10

I don't know if it could be thrush - never had it before. PG symptoms - not had that many throughout anyway. Feel sick, but never been sick, peeing all the time (could be a UTI), sore boobs still. TBH when the six week bleed happened I didn't feel PG anyway, which was why I was convinced I had lost it. I think when you have scare your brain does all sorts to the PG symptoms and either frightens them off or convinces you that you still have them. Dog still peeing everywhere which he has done since before we found out, so that's a good sign. Twice today - once on DH's laptop.

I've never really had symptoms. My other 2 were pretty much symptom free and this one could be going the same way.

I reckon your dog's a much more reliable indication of things going well

Update - good news. Scan shows healthy heartbeat and size at 8+3, so we are obviously ecstatic. Considered opinion is just that I am a bleeder and no need to panic, just one of those things.

THanks for the support DG, vmcd and knackered - see you around the forums as things are set to continue as planned!
