Is this possible? I woke up with leg cramp the other night only to feel my belly go REALLY tight all over like nothing I have ever experienced! No pain or anything, but really strong I just can't imagine it being anything else. It was actually kind of amazing, I mean, I didn't have to do anything you know, this massive force just came out of nowhere! (am I sounding a bit like a hippy..??)

Sorry I really should do a search before posting...apparently yes this can be normal and some people get them even earlier... wow...

I had braxton hicks contractions from 20th week of pregnancy it feels just like you described, i had them all the time. once i was doing shopping and had them every 10 minutes, that was when i was about 30 weeks, got terified but then they would go away. from about this time I had couple a day of them. I had very quick birth after that good luck!

i had them loads, really powerful in my last pregnancy and the birth was waaaaay too quick. Seem a bit more gentle this time around.had them since 24 weeks.

Had first really noticeable ones at 27 weeks, tho, like OnEdge I noticed that post-sex I'd had milder versions of them.

I frantically read through my pregnancy manual when I had the first ones because mine were pretty sore and the book insisted that they shouldn't really hurt so I had a nervous 15 minutes waiting to see if they came back and if a hospital journey was imminent!! Thankfully they didn't and I've only had milder ones since...

But I've had friends who never had them at all before they went into labour! So they're just one of those weird things that seem to affect everybody differently I think

So if this means a quick birth.. ooh that'd be nice... I can dream!
