I'm so bloated. Is anyone else this early on?

I'm only about 3 weeks pregnant but I feel massive. Feel so bloated, had to undo my jeans. This is my 2nd pregnancy so expecting to show earlier than before, but surely not yet!

I'm 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and for the last few weeks I've not been able to do up my jeans! HIDEOUSLY bloated!!

debka · 07/06/2010 19:51

Yep me too. Have also been eating like 2 horses so this may have something to do with it...

oliviacrumble · 07/06/2010 20:19

Am just about to nip upstairs to put on some loose pj bottoms, as I literally cannot bear the pressure of my tum against my (previously comfy) jeans!

Am 7 wks, btw.

knackered76 · 07/06/2010 20:29

6 wks and losing the hope of keeping it quiet! I'm massive already, look at least 3 months. This is my third so reckon my body has given up trying to keep it's shape

Have decided on the muffin top, let it all hang over my jeans look. I can't bear to have to get maternity yet!!!!!

DomesticG0ddess · 07/06/2010 20:37

I was hideously bloated too and had all sorts of tummy troubles - constipation, the opposite, cramps, bloating... All eased about at 14 weeks or so though.

chalky3 · 08/06/2010 10:49

I didn't realise I was pg until 2 weeks ago, will be 8 weeks on Thursday. I've been feeling bloated for a few weeks. That, together with my boobs geeting bigger, convinced me I was just putting on weight. Was so shocked when I got a BFP but thought 'ah, that explains it! (glad I don't need to diet though!)

Havingkittens · 08/06/2010 12:38

Yup, 7 weeks and feeling really bloated. I am now on a mission to buy jersey wrap dresses as I have one and it is the most comfortable thing in my wardrobe at the moment.

It's funny, I find myself rubbing my tummy (like ladies do when they have a bump) when it's particularly uncomfortable and I think the combination of doing that, standing in the pub with a lime and soda and a face full of spots must be very suspicious indeed!

knackered76 · 08/06/2010 18:17

I am now in that fat or pregnant stage. Before it was just the evening that it appeared, from today it seems to be an all day thing! Does that mean I am destined to stay fat or pregnant for even longer than normal?!? Am thinking of giving up trying to keep it secret, will attempt to until my 8 week scan next friday but not holding my breath!

RachelPross · 09/06/2010 20:00

I knoiw where you're coming from this is pregnancy #3 for me and I feel much bigger than I ever was on the others and I'm only 5 weeks.

Also eating constantly as I have terrible nausea if I get hungry!

vickrick · 09/06/2010 21:54

I know exactly where you're coming from HavingKittens. I'm 7 weeks today and have had a breakout of acne since last week and I too have started to drink lime and soda in pubs so people think i'm having vodka Don't want people to know yet incase I stopped getting invited out

Lulabel27 · 10/06/2010 11:38

I'm so pleased to read its not just me! I'm so bloated my trousers are tight (and now i'm worried that its bad for the bean). I've got looser work trousers on today but if I continue like this I'm going be huge!

I think I'm 7 weeks (dating scan next wednesday). Never realised my outbreak of spots might be pregnancy related!! Thats good at least now I know why :-)

PS: Today I've decided i'm going back to the gym for a session on the x-trainer and some toning and going to stop the ham and cheese baguettes! That should maybe help the bloating...

LeviStubbsTears · 10/06/2010 12:41

Me too! I thought I was having twins (it was IVF and they had put two embryos in) but had scan on Tues and it's just one. Some of my ridiculous tum is bloating, but some I have to just accept is me eating too much (in part to ward off sickness) and not doing any exercise... I think we should be kind to ourselves - doesn't happen often that we have an excuse. (I do feel huge though!)

Has anyone else jogged while pregnant? I'm finding it hard to get to the gym or swimming pool but could manage a gentle run round my neighbourhood, but I'm only just 8 weeks and worried I might dislodge something...

Lulabel27 · 10/06/2010 18:15

Hi LeviStubbsTears
I did go to the gym at lunch time, got talking to an instructor I know and he persuaded me to do a session on the treadmill and he stayed with me for 45 minutes while I did it. The first time in 3 weeks but before then I was running regularly so he said it should be fine.

Some pointers he gave me:

  1. Drink plenty of water, before, during and after
  2. Don't let heart rate get too high (maximum 70% of 220-age)
  3. If I feel anything - light headed/sick/dizzy then stop immediately

Otherwise just do it. I really enjoyed it - did some interval runs (not at my normal speed mind) and hill climb. Feel much better now. Will have a rest now til Monday :-)

LeviStubbsTears · 10/06/2010 22:46

Wow, well done, Lulabel! That's really impressive. And encouraging - I will try a v. gentle run tomorrow, I think - did a 10km at the end of March (very slowly indeed!) but nothing (literally) since then due to exams and IVF so v. out of shape. Even if I just did a bit of a power walk at this stage it would be good - anything to get me away from my desk or the sofa!

janedoe25 · 11/06/2010 07:40

Yip, im just 5 wks and feel so bloated and gassy! hope it doesn't last too long!

blondemumma · 11/06/2010 14:10

I'm PG with 2nd and had the WORST bloating and constipation early on til wk 12. Then it just went and have felt much better since, despite being a bit bigger all the way through than last time. Now 28 weeks and finally about the same size as at this stage last time!

rae2010 · 19/07/2010 06:08

Ive literally only found out im pregnant 2 days ago and me and my partner are so happy and excited. Ive worked out im about 5/6 weeks but in the space of a couple of days im suddenly aware of my body changes. I have stomach cramps on both sides throughout the day which seem to come in waves. Ive also got a very bloated and hard tummy which I think will give it away that im pregnant, which is awkward as ive only told close family. This is my first and although planned was unexpected as its happened very quickly and I want to know if these things are normal?? Help!!

Lovemylulu · 19/07/2010 12:39

I am majorly bloated and only 6 weeks with DC2! Thought it was my imagination.. in certain maxidresses I look very pregnant. Although admittedly have never really got rid of my tum since DD1 and am reasonably slim elsewhere so it was bound to happen!

anonMum2 · 19/07/2010 13:11

Second pregnancy and I am surprised people around me haven't guessed yet, that along with me being so sick! I suppose people just think mums are a bit on the tubby side or just to polite to say. Only 11 weeks but belly is so big and round (bloated) I'm wearing maternity clothes that I worse when 5-6 months pregnant last time. I keep rubbing my tummy too, which I have to keep stopping myself from doing as it's not been officially announced yet.
