Tight bump, pressure in pelvis - is this things starting or just wishful thinking?

Says it all really. When I stand up I feel like I need to go to the loo whether I've just been or not, and everything is tight around my bump. Nothing that feels much worse than the (very uncomfortable) braxton hicks that have been getting worse every day though.

Someone give me a gentle slap round the face and tell me to stop trying to convince myself things are starting?

Still sounds like braxton hicks.
When I had contractions, it felt more like I was starving hungry for a little while but not in my stomach, more in low belly and then period pain like feelings, actually less painful than the braxtons but regular!

Fingers crossed for you

How many weeks are you?

Sorry to disillusion you but I feel like that now at 30 weeks

The start of contractions to me felt like an achy period pain and bad back.

39+3!

I've been starting to get backache too, but yeah its probably wishful thinking!

I am in the same boat (38+1) and hoping that things are starting. Saw midwife on Friday and head is 4/5 engaged...
I have endless BH and constant period pains. My back aches when I am standing...

Will be watching this thread with great interest and hope that it is good news for you Chairmum!
