Can you get Braxton Hicks at 8 wks or are these cramps a really bad sign?

I'm 8 weeks pg and this is 3rd baby. I got loads of BH contractions with DS from about 12/14 weeks onwards, and I feel like I'm getting them now but am worried it could be cramping and that something terrible is going to happen.

Can anyone reassure me that BH can be felt as early as this? It's not really painful, just uncomfortable. And it feels more like BH than period pain. Hopefully that is a good sign?

i had weird cramps at 8 wks -= felt like the foetus bumping about (though a bit early for foetal movment, teeny tiny then!)...still ok, many weeks later - i felt much more discomfort in this pg (also 3rd) like my body had given up on holding together properly!

try not to worry (easy to say)

True Braxton Hicks contractions begin around the 28th week -- anything before 24 weeks I would not class as BH. I would go see your MW and ask what's going on. Take it easy, no heavy lifting.

It might be ligaments stretching?

that was what my MW told me.

It could be a lot of things - ligaments, ovary pain, gastro not gynae - but BH are only in later pregnancy afaik.

It could be ligament/stretching pains which are totally normal.

Thanks. It's stopped now so it probably was just ligaments getting ready for the journey ahead.
