Hi everyone,

Now I know that loads of weeing, especially through the night is part of the deal, but honestly, it's about every hour for me right now!! Please please, i'm really hoping someone will reassure me it will stop, for the second trimester at least!!

Thanks so much xx

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I was up at least four times a night during both my pregnancies, and my sister is currently getting up as often as you during hers at the moment.

It did wear off a bit during the second trimester, but came back with a vengeance in the third.

Not quite sure what Mother Nature was thinking making pregnant women get up to go to the loo so often in the night, just when they need as much sleep as they can possibly get!

Hmmm... And what if in the first trimester and not peeing more frequently?

ttalloo · 07/06/2010 08:24

Count yourself lucky, leepod!

It goes for a bit when the hormones settle down but then returns when baby decides your bladder is a trampoline like mine did last week.

Thanks ttal and nymph, I'm glad it eases off in the middle for a while at least! DS was 7 years ago, and I don't remember it being like this in the first trimester at all! I reckon those seven years have caught up with me - either that or it's twins!!!!!

And yes - lucky lucky lee!

i needed to wee in the night a lot in the first trimester but I'm 31 weeks now and going sometimes once in the night but usually not at all. Hope things go the same way for you, it's a pain isn't it?!

LeviStubbsTears · 15/06/2010 16:03

It's once or twice for me (which seems enough!) but I keep being told I'm not drinking enough so at least you should congratulate yourself that you are! Glad it seems likely it will settle down in 2nd trimester.

I think a lot of the getting up multiple times in the night was caused (for me at least) by stressing so much about everything and waking up because of stressing. Then once I was up my bladder figured that it might as well do something now that I was awake.

Now that I'm not stressing so much, I don't need to get up to pee nearly as much.

Im having twins and the first trimester wasnt bad. However im now 29 weeks and get up pretty much every hour to pee. Not fun especially as i am struggling to sleep anyway since im so bloody huge
