Impatient...could she see the sex?

I had a scan at 15 wks and I asked if she could tell the sex and she said that a lot of sonographers can at 12 wks but would never say as it is not as accurate as 20wks. She then said can u see anything? I presumed she meant boy bits and when I said no she said it would be nice to have a girl? So was that a hint or am I just reding too much into it. I have another baby and in my last pregnancy my symptoms were slightly different, I had extremely bad sickness, very sore boobs, and needed to wee constantly this time sickness but not so bad, no sore boobs or extra toilet trips but headaches instead. Could this mean i'm carrying the opposite sex? I'll find out soon but anyone have an oppinion?

Sounds like it might have been a hint to me. What else could she have meant?

Re differing pgs though I wouldn't read too much into that. I have have v similar (crap) pgs so far and have one DS and (if 20wk scan correct) DC2 is a girl.

It sounds like a hint to me.

It does sound like a hint to me too. However, at my 20week scan, the midwife kept referring to the baby as 'he' so I was thinking she'd obviously seen a willy. Then at the end she went down to the genitals to see the sex and it was a girl. I still don't know why she was calling the baby 'he'.

I asked my sonographer at 14 weeks and she said "Well I could take an informed guess but I wouldn't be much more accurate than 50/50" so we told her not to tell us. However, I think a lot depends on the position of the baby and the type of equipment they're using.

At 20 weeks she said she was as close to 100% as she could be.

Babies' 'bits' don't really develop that differently until a bit later, IIRC, so when you see them at 12 weeks they could actually go either way.

I think.

It could have been a hint, but don't read too much into it. Even if you wanted to find out its not 100%, as my friend with the pink nursery and wardrobe full of lovely little dresses found out the hard way.

I was told by a friend who is a Consultant in Obstetrics that you can tell the sex at 12 weeks. It is not as accurate as at 20 weeks, but even then mistakes can be made.

We've decided not to know.

I have a wonderful sonographer and found out both times at 12 weeks (boy first time and girl second). Sounds to me like she was giving you a hint.
