I got given some soothing leg and foot balm for pregnant ladies and it was divine in hot weather.

I liked my Spa voucher and I liked my Clarins relaxing bubble bath pressies. And the pedicure cos' I felt like I had not seen my toes for yonks.

scottishmummy · 01/06/2010 21:29

smart changing bag
boots gift vaoucher
haircut and colour

sweetkitty · 01/06/2010 21:31

I was going to say Ironing or Cleaning vouchers if she is heavily pregnant or for when the baby is born.

Otherwise a meal out voucher

OhCobblers · 01/06/2010 21:46

definitely a top class pedi if she's heavily pregnant - wasn't long into both my pregnancies when i could barely touch my feet let alone paint them!!

Bliss Spa is fab and they do a very special hot milk and almond pedi if you have one near you/her.

scottishmummy · 01/06/2010 21:48

omg,id hate some one footering about with my feet

Wigeon · 01/06/2010 21:52

Massage. Definitely.

Or a little wedge pillow that you put under your bump like this one. DH got me one and I really liked it!

Umleila · 01/06/2010 21:58

My best present when pregnant came from a friend who simply arrived with a huge pot of hot food and then served it up. She not only chatted cheerfully through dinner but then did the washing up afterwards, and let me stagger off to bed. Fantastic, just what you need when you are exhausted. Costs nothing much ether. I did the same for another friened and she loved it too.

scottishmummy · 01/06/2010 22:02

i gave friend
food in freezer bags
wine
dvds
home hairdresser to house to cut hair
..she loved it

vmcd28 · 01/06/2010 22:12

M&S vouchers so she can buy delicious/nutritious food without having to go to any effort.

thislittlesisterlola · 01/06/2010 22:16

wow I would love all of these things! Some nice tummy butter. Def a cleaner for after the bub is here. Expensive choc and a ped. Trip to cinema maybe? My darling friend took me out to lunch when i was feeling crap, was good dp bought me a baby mag subscription which was nice. Would also of liked a wash bag of mini products for the hospital bag. ooh ooh and a pregnancy pillow!

Wigeon · 01/06/2010 22:25

Oh yes, bump cream, lovely.

mamasunshine · 01/06/2010 22:27

oh I was given a Neal's Yard Bump butter and it was AMAZING!

scottishmummy · 01/06/2010 22:29

i used olive oil,really good

japhrimel · 02/06/2010 08:31

Spa vouchers (have dropped hints to DH for our anniversary already!), body butter/bump oil, smart changing bag (could use as a handbag now), toiletries (but check what she uses if you don't know as skin can be sensitive when pg), lunch out, cool maternity clothes if she's not that far along, books to read (I'm getting so bored lying on the sofa!), maybe a lovefilm subscription, a lightweight dressing gown (for taking to hospital without taking up much bag room)...

DetectivePotato · 02/06/2010 09:45

I would love Spa vouchers!!!

saoirse86 · 02/06/2010 14:39

I would be eternally grateful to anyone who sent me for a back massage or anything pampering right now.

del1 · 02/06/2010 21:59

I would love anything 'pampery'.
1)vouchers towards a massage (had a mum to be massage last time - bliss)!!
2)Sanctury 'mum to be' set from boots smells nice.
3)pedicure, as it is difficult to reach toes now!
4)Home made hamper, containing a mix of pamper type smellys, magazines, chocs?

weehector · 03/06/2010 01:01

The Neal's Yard mother-to-be kit - I used to love pampering myself but now I'm on maternity rations, all the things I promised myself in late pregnancy (massages, pedicures, etc) seem to be making way for cute babygros. However, I was given this and I love, love, love it - trying to save some of the massage oil & spritzer for labour but have already bought extra mother-to-be bath oil as its so relaxing. Would kill for spa vouchers or anyone to come and do my hoovering too.

burmesegrumbler · 03/06/2010 08:09

Elemis Mother To Be Massage - Amazing!

boodleboot · 03/06/2010 08:28

My DH got me a pregnancy egg for my birthday which is a egg shaped pendant on a very long piece of silk string that dangles over my bump and chimes like a very soothing windchime....apparently the sound is anchoring for the baby and when bubs is born you can hang the chime over the cot or use to soothe.....its from Tales of the Earth (amazon have them apparently)

i have absolutely loved wearing it and it came so beautifully gift wrapped with a gorgeous box, pouch and little booklet.

hope she likes whatever you choose!

Chesterado · 03/06/2010 11:36

Agree with all the pampering suggestions above but also another vote for trips out e.g. cinema or lunch. I'm in the final weeks now and on maternity leave and have been totally overwhelmed by several of my lovely friends taking an afternoon off to keep me company on trips to the cinema (SATC2!) and nice lunches that will be much harder to arrange once the baby arrives. Their time has been just as lovely as the gifts!

OhCobblers · 03/06/2010 19:33

OP i know its not omething "handy" for pregnancy or maybe it is (!) but how about taking your friend out to Afternoon Tea somewhere near to you / her?

Somewhere lovely with gorgeous cakes, sandwiches, tea and a lovely glass of fizz if she fancies it? It was done for me and is very very civilised!!!
