This is a silly question, especially since this is dc2, but I'm 23 weeks pregnant and for the last few days have been getting kicks really, really low down, near the (sorry if tmi) 'exit' region. I really don't remember getting this with my ds as they always seemed to be more 'up in the tummy'. These little kicks really are around the inside of the 'fanjo' area (sorry I really don't know how to pinpoint it otherwise and my bump is quite low down.

What I'm worried about is that I've got some sort of cervical incompetence problem because it feels so low down already like I'm not holding it up high enough, but I don't know anything about this. Is it normal? I don't see my midwife for another 2 weeks. TIA.

Maybe the baby's in the breech position at the moment? My friend's baby is breech and her kicks are low down too.

Or maybe you have a little fighter punching you from the inside!

Thank you CTJ, I did also wonder if (and hope that) that might be it. Has anyone else had a breech baby and felt it in the very low nether regions? Is it normal to be so low down? It's really an odd sensation!

Im 23 weeks pregnant and when I went to the 20 week scan they saw that the baby was in breech position. A few days later I also got some kicks very low down. Now I think the baby has been moving around a lot because I get kicks all over my tummy. If you are still concerned maybe you could give your mw a call.

Hi im 30 weeks and baby is breach, and I get the same said kicks in the exit region. Not a nice feeling. I was like you oosabeauta this is my 3rd pregnacy and didnt feel this with the other 2, they were not breach so that explains it. Its not a propblem for me if she stays breach as I am having a section as had 2 in the past. I also have low lying placenta, so that and the breach would have meant a section anyway.

Thanks Lia and k, that's reassuring to know. I think, although they didn't use the word 'breech', that at the 20 week scan the baby might have been because they said that her head was exactly behind my belly button, so maybe standing up. Not sure. I know there's a lot of time to move, but I'll definitely mention it to the midwife when I see her at 25 weeks. Good to know that 'exit region' kicks are normal enough, if peculiar feeling. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancies.
