5 weeks- anyone experienced 'period pain' symptoms?

Hi everyone,

I discovered nearly a week ago that i'm about 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and have been experiencing weird 'period pains', even though I know it's not my period, and (touch wood), no sign of a mc.

They're not constant, and on occasion will be sharper if I move suddenly, but they're not on one particular side- seem to happen all over!

Can anyone reasure me that they've had these in early pregnancy, or are currently experiencing them?

Thanks!

Congratulations!

"Ghost" period type cramps around the time your period would have been due may be "implantation pains" - cramps due to the fertilised egg attaching itself to the womb lining.

I have been having them since last Thursday and was convinced AF was about to start anytime but got a BFP yesterday.

I had these pains up to about 10 weeks and got a bit panicky every time. I am 22 weeks tomorrow and have a whole new set of things to worry about, but I suppose that is just pregnancy - makes all of us a little neurotic.

Good luck ladies!!

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with a history of m/c at around this stage. I've been having mild cramps on and off for the last 3 weeks (which I know can be normal), but also a few stabbing pains. Since I'm diabetic, I was taken in for a scan as soon as the pregnancy was confirmed but the midwives said that the sac was too small and took bloods to measure my hormone levels. Apparently my hormones are not increasing as much as they should so the midwives have told me that I'll probably miscarry. I'm devestated and can't stop crying but I'm not having any more pains and I've not bled much beyond a spot or two a week or so ago. Can anyone offer some advice?
