Hi there. Some advice needed! I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my first and have been feeling what I thought were baby movements from about 18 weeks. Some days I feel more than I do on others but over the last 2 days (poss even 3 now I think about it) I don't think I have felt anything at all and I'm starting to stress. Should I be worrying at this stage or are early movements a bit hit and miss anyway?

Not really sure what's normal and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/advice?

Have not had 20 wk scan yet - it's at Kings on Tuesday.

Thanks.

To be honest I can't remember how frequent I felt movements at this stage with my first
If you are concerned ring your midwife and see what (s)he says.

Early movements can be a bit and miss. I didn't get anything consistent until about 22 weeks. But as nunnie says, if you are worried, do just give your midwife a ring.

i can't remember how much i felt ds at this stage, but i couldn't feel him move the day i went into labour. tried everything, eating, fizzy drinks, cold drinks and nothing worked. i called the hospital and they told me to come down to put my mind at ease-went down and when we got to the hospital car park i thought i felt a movement, went in and they scanned me and left me on the monitor for a while and everything was grand! i was actually in early labour but didn't realsie. if you are at all worried i would call them and see what they say. better to put your mind at ease. good luck!

I think movements are a bit hit and miss at this stage, but if you are worried then I would ring the midwife in the morning as it's always better to have peace of mind and would be horrible to be stressing about it till Tues

Hello Honeybee,
I had the same experience as you, I didn't feel anything other than a couple of flutters until about 23/24 weeks.

Apparently this is very common if your placenta is at the front, which mine is. The scanner lady explained that it's due to the extra cushioning of the placenta at the front.

Hope that helps you worry less!
