+how does paternity leave work?

obviously i dont know when the baby will come (other 2 were born at 41 weeks) so how do we sort out dp's paternity leave?

his boss is on leave and its worrying me

DH booked his time off for my due date but on the understanding that if necessary it may have to be moved forwards or backwards

Patrenity leave can't be legally taken until after the birth, so book early and if goes back it goes back. MAke sure his boss is aware of this.

aa thats what was bothering me... if he books for the due date and i go a week over then he would only get a week with the baby...

so book for due date but time off when baby comes? should he be able to give them little notice?

his work should be flexible about when it starts, you can give them the due date, but everyone is in the same position as no one really knows exactly when the baby will arrive! your not entitled to the leave until the baby is born, so his work should be prepared for him to take the leave when you go into labour

His work HAS to be flexible - he is entitled to his two weeks and he doesn't have to start the two weeks (in fact, paternity leave CANNOT start) until after the baby's born.

Can he take any annual leave also around the EDD? Then you might get a few days to relax together.
