Apologies ladies for the TMI-ness of this thread but can't get the info I need anywhere else.
I am 35 weeks PG and when I orgasm now, as well as the very strong uterine contractions which I feel as a severe tummy tightening- wierd, but not really unpleasant- I feel some mild pain in my lower back , like a cramp. Is this normal? Should I stop? ( god forbid My DP would move out ). This has happened 3 times in the last week.

wow, ive got no experience in this one, but im just impressed that your still managing to have sex this late on, let alone orgasm from it!!!

nunnie · 24/05/2010 12:27

I had intercourse until the night before DD was born, to horny not to Don't remember experiencing back cramps did get some tummy tightening but I wouldn't say severe. Speak to your midwife and see what (s)he says.

lilysmemo · 24/05/2010 12:30

well what can I say my DP is 7 yrs younger and LOVES my pregnancy curves so how could I say no . TBH I'm not worried overly as if it makes baby come sooner (s)he will be just fine at this stage - it's more a case of it ruining my orgasm as it is quite sharp

Could it be a position issue?

lilysmemo · 24/05/2010 12:36

I have only ever come on my back with tongue /finger/vibe stimulation , once with penetration so it is my "usual " way

Can't help then sorry, I was only able to manage it certain ways when pregnant for comfort reasons, and found some positions went a little to deep for me.

lilysmemo · 24/05/2010 12:57

I know what you mean- it's not exactly a graceful thing at this stage- thanks for replying tho !

Hi

I have had a similar thing - tummy tightening and back ache - at 37 weeks. Darned uncomfortable! Better after a lie-down though. Hope this helps!

LadyGaggia · 24/05/2010 21:09

I used to get BH contractions after orgasms, maybe this is what you are feeling?

autodidact · 24/05/2010 21:09

Sex with orgasms definitely set off my labour. I'd definitely talk to your midwife about whether to hold off for a little while.

legscrossed · 24/05/2010 21:13

its just BH, I would consider it healthy for womb baby n mum. Fill your boots

honeymoonmum · 24/05/2010 21:32

God lot are l - my lucky, my dh has not come near me since week 10 of pregnancy 'I don't find pregnant women a turn on' - I'm gagging!!!!! Sorry way too much info!!!

honeymoonmum · 24/05/2010 21:33

Sorry that meant to say 'God you lot are lucky' - Ds has pulled various keys off keyboard so typing not easy!

lagaanisace · 24/05/2010 21:36

I had this exactly and joined the Cow & Gate site just so I could ask their specialists about it. The reply I got was that it's fine.

I am soooo jealous !! I am not getting any at the mo (35wks) as DH has told me he doesn't feel comfortable having sex whilst i'm preggers! But will quite happily have a blow job!!
I do remember with my first though, that I used to get pain in my lower abdomen about this time, just as i was half way through my orgasm. How off putting?
Friends told me it was just my muscles etc tightening around the womb?
Enjoy I say, and if it encourages baby, then at least you can enjoy this weather without feeling like a hippo!! lol

to Del 1 and honeymoon mum. I am sorry, my ex stopped loving me when I was aroung 14/16 weeks pg and I felt so rejected , especially as I still felt very sexual- and I was only 27 and my boobs looked amazing!
Fortunately my partner now still loves to make love and I am now 40 and my boobs are not what they were! I hope your DH/DP's are still giving you plenty of love and attention to compensate for their lack of lovemaking- del , tell him to bog off , if he can't do it for you- don't do it for him !
Thank you for your advice ladies , I don't believe the contractions are BH as they are due to the orgasm- and I have no intention of stopping as the pleasure is still good- unless the pain gets worse- and what better way for a baby to be born than after mummy and daddy have been showing each other how much they love one another [sickenly happy smile]

lilysmemo, I have told him to bog off, and havn't spoken to him for a week, due to his lack of appreciation
You go girl!!

oopsandbabycoconut · 25/05/2010 15:45

Lilysmemo - perfectly normal apparently. I have the same 'contactions' post orgasm and I ma now almost 40 weeks. I a DH who thinks I am incredibly attractive when I am PG and the more PG the better in his books!! He say it is the most womanly I could ever be. I did ask the MW in my first PG and she said it is fine as it gives your uterus a bit of a work out which can't be bad exercise for labour!

honeymoonmum · 25/05/2010 16:02

I wish my DH saw me as beautiful - went to a toddler group this morning and one of the dad's COULD not look me in the eye as boobs slightly showing and they are pretty spectacular - my DH claims to love big boobs but sadly not if followed by a big bump!!! HIS LOSS (well and mine!)

Lilysmemo - sorry to hijack your thread-did you manage to forgive your ex-partner and resume loving post baby? I feel like saying piss off after baby arrives-why should he decide when we do and don't get it on?!!!!! Glad you found an appreciative audience this time round!

lilysmemo · 25/05/2010 19:40

Honeymoonmum- no re. The ex, he was a chauvinist t* and I left him 2 weeks before my dd was born. He was a tosser then , and still is, hasn't seen my beautiful girl in a year as I dared to ask for more maintenance ( he is an md of a very sucessful company- I was I debt up to my neck until a few yrs ago) . Hopefully it won't come to that for you- but I am sad that you are not being valued cos I bet you look crackin . Pregnant women are fabulous and incredibly sexy . Maybe he needs a bit of encouragement just? Is he a good loving partner otherwise? Was baby planned?

Can i just say - dammit girl!!! 3 orgasms in one week - i must be a prude!

I get exactly the same as what you get and i am 24 weeks. I think it's probably quite normal as long as it goes away...
