Has anyone else lost weight?

This is my 2nd baby. I lost 2 stone 4lbs in 14 days with my first as I had hyperemesis.

This time round the sickness is nowhere near as bad but I have gone from 15 stone 7lbs to 14 stone 5 lbs in a little over 2 weeks.

Just wondered if anyone else has gone through the same or if I am some sort of medical anomoly lol.

your not alone, i lost just over a stone from conception till around 20weeks, but ive more than gained it all back now!!

if youve had hyperemesis again, or your just not eating enough its perfectly plausable that you can have lost weight for genuine reasons. i wouldnt worry about it, your body will prioritise the baby over you, hence the weight loss.

try to start eating more fruit and veg, good protein, good carbs etc to help stabilise your weight if nothing else, but most of all dont worry too much!

I'm not worried, just wondered if anyone else went through it too lol.

I live on fruit and veg, stay away from refined sugar as well.

Nope I lost half a stone in the first eleven weeks, it happens sometimes.

With my first pregnancy I put on about 10 lbs in the first trimester, and 4 stone by full term

Second pregnancy I lost a stone in the first 10 weeks - I did have hypermemesis, though.

I lost 10lbs up to week 19 (20+4 now) and have put on 3lbs since...although my new-found cheesecake obsession may explain most, if not all, of that!

As long as your midwife's not worried, I think it is quite common. x

I lost quite a bit of weight in pregnancy due to gestational diabetes. I followed a very rigid diet in an attempt to control it and ended up lighter a week after delivery than I was at the start! Pre-pregnancy I was a size 20 and I have just bought my first pair of size 12 jeans a year on!

Another hyperemesis sufferer here - am now nearly 29 weeks and still half a stone less than when I started.

It's fine - as long as you are not dehydrated through the sickness. It is more of a worry if you are underweight to start.

Lost a stone in the first 3 months which was rather lovely, and needed. Have put on a stone and a half since (35 weeks).

am also putting on 3 pounds a week right now..... nothing to do with my vanilla ince cream fetish i am sure.

I lost a lot in the first few weeks, til about 17wks or so, then i put it on in the tinest amounts. Technically though I lost weight, as I put on 7lb through the entire pregnancy, and DS was 7.5lb (almost 6 months ago). I had HG too, throughout the entire pregnancy, although had a couple of months were i threw up less.

DS was perfectly healthy and strong at birth and now, and so was/am I. My skin was/is a bit crap and I think that is something to do with dehydration catching up with me, but the only thing I found an issue after DS was born, was no reserves for breastfeeding, so I lost a bit of weight to start while he guzzled and I struggled to stuff food into me fast enough. It did give me a good excuse to eat all sorts of crap and lots and lots of it though as the HG disappeared, literally as soon as the placenta came out .
