Laying on (poss) sciatic nerve when sleeping - help!

Urgh, I am so sick of this, I have yet another symptom to add to my long list of pregnancy problems, most of which centre around me not sleeping.

Recently I have started to get a real tenderness under my hip joint and a pain down my leg. I think it is me laying on my sciatic nerve. I get it both sides and even when I turn over onto a different side the pain lingers for quite a while.

This is coupled with the cramp in my calves which I am sporadically getting. It's really affecting my sleep. I literally have't had a full night's sleep since becoming pg, for one reason or another. My daughter was at my mum's last night so I was supposed to be able to have a nice lie in. Instead I have been up since six trying to get comfortable.

Is there anything I can do? I already sleep with a pillow between my knees. I'm not particularly comfortable on my back either so that doesn't help.

I'm so so fed up with being pg. My body just falls apart...

Any chance you could see a myofascia specialised massage therapist? I see one regularly for various issues and she's trained in massage in pregnancy, so I'm carrying on seeing her.

We can build up "muscle knots" which are actually areas of restriction in the myofascia (the muscle covering) and these can then press on nerves causing sciatica-type pain. The massage aims to release the restrictions.

I wonder if you might have this, because as well as causing the sciatica-type pains, it can cause muscle cramps.

I must just have to go with the NHS physio. I have already spent a fortune on trying to sort out problems with my neck. I'm just so miserable that I can't even get a decent night's sleep
