lower back pain - massage

I'm 11 weeks and a bit achy in my lower back - I used to do a lot of hot yoga and since I've got pregnant, I've carried on running and cycling but done no stretching until yesterday.

I want to go for a back massage. Is that safe?

Anyone else get lower back pain around this point without it turning into SPD or something similar?

could quite easily be hormones this early on. keep an eye on it for sure and dont be afraid to ask the midwife for help, and take paracetamol if you feel you need the relief, or try a hot water bottle or heat patches, just remember not to take ibuprofen

I think most places will not give you a massage in your 1st trimester (I suspect not because there is any actual risk but because they don't want to be sued by anyone that happens to have a mc). I guess you could not tell them?! Or wait a week or so then go for a pregnancy massage??

Make sure it's someone specially trained in pregnancy massage. My myofascial release specialised massage therapist is and so I'm still going to see her regularly, but I now have to lie on my side or sit up leaning forwards (not lie on my front or back).
