Just intrigued to know your answers. I felt DD1 from about 11/12 weeks. I'm now pregnant with DC2 (5wks) and just wondered what peoples experiences were?

I was 17 weeks and people told me it was too early, but I know what I felt (DC1)

MrsCraig87 · 19/05/2010 20:16

With my 1st it was about 18 weeks. With my second (current) pregnancy i felt him around 15 weeks x

Rinnyx · 19/05/2010 20:22

I cant really recall with DD but that was 8years ago

But with #2 I felt it at about 14 and half weeks, I am only about 15 and half now and its great x

Drivermamsstorytrain · 19/05/2010 20:47

With my first at 16weeks. At work. In a meeting. It was amazing. My second i could feel at 13 weeks but convinced myself that it was way too early and must be wind. I'm currently 5 weeks with third and am so excited to feel those fluttery all to yourself moments i swear i'm imagining them already.

EightiesChick · 19/05/2010 20:48

15 weeks for me.

goodlifemummy · 19/05/2010 21:28

DTD's 15 weeks and currently almost 9 weeks and being very impatient!

nomorecake · 20/05/2010 08:37

Ds1 I felt at 22 weeks (anterior
placenta)
sure I felt dc2 at 12 weeks, despite being told it's too early.

BirthPostnatalDoula · 20/05/2010 08:45

I felt my first at 16 weeks and my second a bit earlier.

OhExpletive · 20/05/2010 08:47

First at 19 weeks, second at 15 weeks. Weird, by 19 weeks this time it was like a scene from alien!

juuule · 20/05/2010 08:51

Baby no2 at 11wks.

toja555 · 20/05/2010 09:19

I felt DC1 at 21 weeks. Tomorrow is 16 weeks with DC2 and have not felt anything Maybe because I am overweight?

Nymphadora · 20/05/2010 09:58

DC3 13ish def by 14

BessieBoots · 20/05/2010 09:59

11/12 with no.2. He was a huge baby, I wonder if that's why?

JennyPiccolo · 20/05/2010 10:59

I'm 17 weeks and not felt the baba yet, everyone keeps asking me and i feel like i should just lie and say yes.

megonthemoon · 20/05/2010 11:50

With DS, little bubbles at 17 weeks, no kicks until about 20 weeks when he suddenly started to go crazy.

With this pg (now 23+4), fluttering at about 13-14 weeks, big shifts in position at about 16 weeks but no kicks until 21 weeks! This baby just seems way more relaxed than DS, and is definitely not moving or kicking as much he did!

missclairep · 20/05/2010 11:59

I'm 21+4 weeks and have felt something for a couple of weeks now. Jut waiting for the kicks to start!

jwiggles · 20/05/2010 12:26

Is it right that if you are overweight, its harder to feel anything? I am 15 weeks on Saturday and havent felt a thing yet...
I do have a BMI of 30 though

juuule · 20/05/2010 13:55

I wasn't overweight and didn't feel anything from dc3 until 22wk-ish.

japhrimel · 20/05/2010 14:08

When it happens, do you know what it is immediately? I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my first and haven't got a clue what it will feel like.

Spirael · 20/05/2010 14:45

I found the early movements felt a bit like an involuntary muscle twitch, but really low down - much lower than I expected! I was expecting to feel something a little below my belly button, but the early movements were pretty much at my pelvis!

Those movements I began feeling around 16 weeks, but at the time wasn't sure whether or not it was LO. I didn't feel any proper kicks and nudges until around 22 weeks, but I'm another one with an anterior placenta - which was muffling all the movements!

Not sure whether weight contributes to feeling movements... I'd think it's more to do with the position of the placenta, personally! It's a bit depressing not to feel much early on, but it's a blessed relief at the later stages that LO's movements are muffled. I've been spared being kicked awake during the night, thus far! (Bladder stomping aside...)

TettyLouBar · 21/05/2010 11:00

Wow, thanks for all the posts ladies.

Jwiggles, I'm convinced when you feel the bubba early on, its a whole heap of things that contribute to it. e.g. lively babes, full bladder, 1st/2nd/3rd preg, position your in at time, position they're in, whether you've just eaten/drank, outside noises and vibrations.
I don't really know whether weight has anything to do with it. But I know plenty of larger ladies who felt they're movements early on so don't worry

Japhrimel, flutters, bubbles, like an "inside itch" I thought best described the first movements I felt. It happens so quick sometimes at first, you think you've just imagined it. But you'll know

I am 13w with my 1st child and I think I've been feeling something this week. It's been 3 nights in a row, sitting slightly reclined on the sofa, with my hands on my tummy and it's been like a shifting or fluttering inside. I've been telling myself it's wind but I don't really think it is and I'm sure it's the baby.
Maybe it's a combo of wind, my organs moving inside etc but it's definitely not something I've felt ever before.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/05/2010 16:05

I felt flutters at 17 weeks the first time but can't remember how frequently. This time around I felt something at 13 and 15 weeks but not consistantly until 17 weeks, from then I have felt him pretty much everyday.

Kaz1967 · 22/05/2010 00:17

About 12-13 weeks

jwiggles I am was over weight and felt Kez move fairly early it can depend on many things ie. if you know what it is, positioning of placenta, how active baby is.... some people do not feel anything until 24 weeks which must be hard. Knowing I had felt her recently kept my sanity having lost a baby at 19 weeks even when the midwife could not find a heart beat at 16 weeks I knew I had felt moment that morning (still bloody scary mind), cold drinks and ice usually got her wriggling

My Daughter will be 2 in July and I still miss her moments inside me
