scan today - feeling so sick and anxious

I get my first "official" scan today, should be around 12.5 weeks or so.
I has two MCs at the end of last year, so I was given 2 scans this time round for reassurance. All has looked well so far. However, in the 9 weeks that I've known I'm pregnant, I've had a total of about 4 weeks of brown/beige discharge/spotting. Then, last Friday I had an episode of watery red.
Although I have seen a heathly heartbeat, and heard its heartbeat last Friday, I cannot tell you how terrified I am about going for this scan today. I am so scared that they find something wrong, at this stage.
I just cant help but remember that my MC before Xmas had lots of beige/brown spotting too, and only 2 episodes of red bleeding...

Any words of comfort from anyone would be wonderful!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Every pregnancy is different so try not to get yourself too stressed prior to the scan. Fingers crossed that you will come away with a huge grin and the knowledge that your pregnancy is progressing nicely!

fingers crossed

I really feel for you. I was exactly the same before my 12 week scan and was on here having to be reassured by other MNetters. I also have a mmc last year, and then this pregnancy bled lightly on and off until 6 weeks and had pain, symptoms disappearing, etc. I had seen a healthy heartbeat at 7,8 and 9 wks (practically camped out the in the EPU) but was still terrified again at 12 wks.

Don't know if I can be of much comfort, but as you've seen a good hb in spite of your spotting episodes, the chances of this being a sticky one are much, much higher than the chances of another mc. What time is your scan? Wishing you heaps of luck x

thinking of you too. x

Hi vmcd- guess you might already have left, but when I was getting anxious about my dating scan having had a good early scan, I found the following info from the Miscarriage Association website really useful:

See link
here.
So... if you heard the heartbeat last week, seems like there's a greater than 99% all is well.
Good luck!

Thank you all so much! The baby is PERFECT!
They dated me at 13w, which is great cos they've pushed me a few days further on!
It was sucking its thumb.
Needless to say, I cried.

Just read your thread and even tho you're a total stranger its brought a wee tear to my eye (I am pregnant too). I was a complete wreck of anxiety before my first scan and I know how huge relief is when you see things are ok- it blows your mind to see your wee one for the first time doesn't it?

So happy for you, take care!
