Hi all. Am 22 weeks with baby 3. Sickness has finally passed but suddenly so hungry but am stuffing myself full of chocolate / cake and biscuits. I am normally a size 10/12 and when not pregnant / bfding I eat quite healthily. I know that it's ok to indulge yourself when pg but I really want to be careful this time, as when my second child was 10 months old someone mistook me for being pregnant and gave up their seat for me!! I don't want to pile it on in this last pregnancy, the trouble is, I'm working and tired and always looking for that quick, naughty fix. Does anyone have any alternatives to naughty food, or is nothing really as good as chocolate?

IMO nothing replaces chocolate. I keep looking for a healthier fix, but only chocolate will do! You could make some chocolate chip flapjacks which will give you an energy boost with a bit of chocolate and they are quite yummy - I can post a recipe if you want. Flapjack and an Options hot chocolate (40 cals) is what I'd go for when I want a slightly healthier chocolate fix

Can't really suggest much as I agree, nothing can replace chocolate. But I did see a recipe on BBC Good Food website for chocolate and beetroot cake, so you could make that and at least would be getting a portion of beetroot too! It just looked like a regular choc cake. Also, chocolate soya milk nice. And those little Alpro soya choc desserts, which are pretty low fat and have protein/calcium.

I am allergic to chocolate and don't really eat sweets. i am actually finding it hard to eat enough during pregnancy but cheese (the ones allowed) and crackers are a good snack and toast when I am feeling sick.

I haven't even had any cravings

I make chocolate beetroot cake from the Riverford recipe website. It is yummy and freezes well and you don't need as much oil as they say, I reduced it by a third i think. It has a load of cocoa powder in it so don't scoff it too late at night if it might keep you awake.

There is no chocolate replacement for me! But when I'm craving it I try to eat Curly Wurly chocolate bars because on Weight Watchers they are only 2 points and they're quite big!

Low fat yogurt with "Options" or similar low-cal chocolate powder mixed in.

Or you can buy Muller lights in chocolate flavour.

Obviously not the real thing but still nice!

curly wurlies are especially good, and last longer if kept in the freezer I found!!
