Very painful Braxton Hicks - should i contact my MW?

I am 28weeks pg with second DC.

I have been having some very uncomfortable BH for a couple of weeks when my bump goes rock hard, mostly if i have been overdoing it a bit.

Yesterday i had an easy day with friends, but was getting some very frequent tightenings and discomfort. On the way home (2hrs in the car) i was in agony. Very strong, painful BH's across the top of my bump, that literally had me doubled up and struggling to breathe every minute or so.

We stopped at some services so i could go to the loo, have a good walk about and get some chocolate where they eased off a bit but were definitely still there. Went to bed early and felt better this morning.

I have ovulation type pain on one side (just like my usual ovulation pain) this morning, but no BH.

The only other thing is i kept getting slight twinges inside me iyswim? Quite sharp.

Is it possible that the baby was just lying transverse and has shifted (or vice versa)?

Should i try to get a MW app this week (not due to see her til 26th) or just see how i get on?

Oh, and i was admitted to hospital at 26weeks with DD having 'contractions' due to a low level urine infection. Tbh, i think they were probably BH in hindsight.

Definitely contact your midwife. It could be that you have another UTI. I had similar pains with ds2 at about 30 weeks ish. Was a UTI. Had twinges and a kind of burning feeling on one side - really painful.

It doesn't feel like a UTI though. I thought i had one a few weeks ago and got tested and all fine. Because the BH were across the top of my bump i was unsure.

I would give your midwife a ring, but to me that sounds like your baby was turning themselves round. DS turned at 28 weeks, by which time he was quite big and I'm not the tallest so I really felt him. If you were sat down then he probably didn't have that much room to wiggle.

Eek exciting!

Do ring though incase it is a UTI.

Ali i am paranoid it may be a big baby especially as i am going for a vbac this time!

Maybe i will see how today goes? I was in and out of the hospital last pg and really trying to avoid it this time.
