Aching fanjo, not thrush

Sorry for the TMI thread. For the past couple of weeks I've had sporadic aching fanjo, sort of sore, can't really describe it. I wondered if it was thrush, have only had it once before (when I was pg last time) but the doctor wasn't sure and took a swab which came back negative. I have been using canestan cream on and off until I got the results. Today it is sore again, it seems to be when I am doing a bit of walking. Could there any other reason for it? Just friction maybe?

I've had that on and off since about 15 weeks (am now 20). Have also had a few shooting pains there. Nice. I've put it down to things stretching and shifting. Haven't had any other symptoms - discharge, itching, etc. If I do some pelvic floor clenches while it's aching, it eases it a bit. Not sure how likely it is to be down to friction - unless you're wearing really tight trousers/knickers and are doing huge amounts of walking! And I guess things would look sore down there? I suppose the other possibility is that it's the dreaded vulval varicose veins. But I assume your doctor would have noticed them when taking the swab. So probably not those then. Hope you feel better - this all seems to be part of the stuff no one bothers to tell you about until you're actually knocked up!

Is it an ache almost like you have been kicked? Sounds like it could be spd

I started off for a few weeks with an ache down there and then gradually like theagedparent just mentioned felt like been kicked. I now have full blown SPD and am in agony!!!! Don't mean to frighten, might not be that though, just a thoughtx

I've had a sore (like, an old bruise, that kind of sore) ladyarea for a while now. Probably since 20wks (am nearly at 30). It hasn't developed into SPD, it's not varicose veins - I swallowed my prudery and got the MW to have a look down there, and she said something along the lines of "yep, it's swollen, I bet it hurts - but there's not actually anything WRONG - it's just there's more pressure on that area now. Sorry."

I too find that doing kegel exercises while walking helps, plus not being on my feet or hard chairs all day long (easier said than done, I know!).
I'm also retaining a lot of fluid - get swollen feet and ankles and things. Is that happening to you? Dunno if the two are connected, it's possible that the extra strain on the blood vessels is making things a bit, erm, tender. Either way I wish I had more answers for you but at least you're not alone. Aah, ain't pregnancy grand?!

Blackcurrants, I am 33 wks, and have had the same ' bruised' feeling for a few weeks now.
It's not a pain, more like a dull throbing ache?(like someone wearing pointed shoes has kicked me right in the middle)
It does feel, and look quite swollen, and a bit purple - urghh !!! (sorry TMI!)
I've also started to get the feeling of a pulled muscle on the inside of my groin.
I'm hopeing it's because baby has turned head down? And not spd?
Didn't have any of this with DS1!

I get a similar pain on and off - I just assumed it was increased pressure on the area, due to a slightly weakened pelvic floor after my last pregnancy.

Thanks for the replies. Have just spent 5 hours traipsing round town with the pushchair and I am burning! My pelvis feels like it is about to split. Is that SPD or just to be expected when you are pg?
