My DS was born at 37 weeks IUGR at 3lb 14oz due to placental problems. I'm now pregnant with no2 (DD) at 20 weeks and am in consultant led care and being carefully monitored.

No one seems to know whether DD will be IUGR - have MNers out there had No2 be normal after IUGR? Or does it seem to be a maternal problem that repeats? Any thoughts please - I guess I'll find out but it would be nice to have some hope that I won't have to go through that again.

Hi, I had ds 1 at 34wks, he weighed 3lb6 - IUGR. Ds 2 born at 40+4, he weighed 6lb13, perfectly healthy weight for him As long as they're keeping an eye on you LO will be fine I was consultant led, scanned every 4 weeks. I also was much less stressed 2nd time round, finished work much earlier, ate what I wanted etc etc.

Thanks mamasunshine. Good news to hear that it can go better the next time. I feel well looked after but can't help but hope that this time I could have a more 'normal' pregnancy!
